@Icenii

That we should align to celtic paganism without the personification of concepts into deities and teach it in schools. The 8 festivals should be celebrated and nature and the cycle of the year should be at the heart of what we do. This will connect us back to nature. Religion should be scrapped. The Bible was just the Harry Potter of its time.

Blended families can be better that traditional.

Scrap gender and stick with biology. You can't change your chromosomes.

I agree!
PlumsInTheIcebox · 03/01/2021 09:01

That there is a vocal and growing minority of posters with moderate to severe mental health issues who use MN in an unhealthy way rather than getting help in real life. See the threads where people collectively panic and drag each other into their spirals and the threads where posters try to persuade others of their neuroses to make themselves feel less alone.

There are exceptions to this but if you cannot sleep unless your healthy baby is on a breathing monitor then you are experiencing a disruptive level of anxiety and you need help. If you don’t get it then the anxiety will transfer to other issues and your child will miss out when you won’t let them go on a half hour coach trip with the school in year 2.

You can't change your chromosomes.

True, but sex chromosomes and gender are more complex than what people would like to or choose to believe.

Love this. Religious studies in schools should actually be religious studies and look at how and why (including history, culture and psychology) certain religions came about, not some politically correct crap about how they’re all equal. Mind you that would involve critical analysis which our schools seem to be actively avoiding.

That more women than we think do stop contraception quietly or never go in it and then call the pregnancy an accident!

GeordieGreigsButtButtZoom · 03/01/2021 09:02

I'll respect people's choices, but a choice isn't automatically feminist just because a woman made it.

ChristmasUserName2020 · 03/01/2021 09:07

I think Boris is generally doing a good job. I voted Brexit.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/01/2021 09:09

The "we♥️NHS" is plain weird. Honestly. It's not that great and everyone is basically saying "we♥️ basic healthcare system". Everyone I know from abroad finds it bit odd. We all have healthcare systems, we all respect the workers, in many countries they got OCCASIONAL clap, but we don't obsess over the healthcare system like this.Confused

lazylump72 · 03/01/2021 09:09

That the Gov are idiots for bowing to pressure from over paid "celebrities" over feeding kids during holidays and weekends and well every day! They already do this once with child benefit payments.

cardswapping · 03/01/2021 09:10

Normalisation of alcohol consumption all week long (“have a drink”, “opening the wine now”, “this what gin is for”etc) is unhealthy.

krappykrismas · 03/01/2021 09:11

The F-word is ugly, offensive and over-used.

I love my alcohol, but yeah. I agree. Every day consumption is risky. So is once a week massive binge. Happy medium exists.

Hi folks

Just a reminder - talk guidelines still stand when discussing unpopular opinions, so please do bear that in mind or the thread will have to go.

Airyfairymarybeary · 03/01/2021 09:17

Forcefully impregnating a cow, taking its baby away so we can drink its tit milk is weird!

cardswapping · 03/01/2021 09:18

@SchrodingersImmigrant yes indeed. Also I worry about the framing of alcohol consumption as a go to answer to the OP’s work rant or kid homework.

I know it is often meant in a lighthearted way (hence why I raise it here and not every time someone posts it) but it contributes to the unhealthy use of alcohol.

Step mothers are allowed to discipline their step children if they need to.
It's ok to still be living with your parents when you are an adult
Children don't need to be in clubs or activity groups every day of the week
Tom hardy is average looking

Plussizejumpsuit · 03/01/2021 09:23

Having children is an unimaginative thing to do and most people do it because they don't have much else of interest going on.

Most men aren't that interested in having kids. So shouldn't do it. It's really unfair on women to act like you are as interested in breeding as she is when actually you couldn't give a fuck.

You can no how hard parenting is before you have children. People tell you constantly, belive them.

Women should take some responsibility for having multiple children with useless men. Of course the blame lies with men for being useless fuckers. But once you know he's useless don't have more children with him. That doesn't help anyone.

Trans women are women. A few cases of male offenders saying they're women to try to get access to female spaces doesn't mean all trans people are out to get women.

scubadub · 03/01/2021 09:25

Working full time, running a house and and having kids is not that hard...some people are just piss poor with time management.

I so agree with this, but whenever this gets pointed out the poster gets accused of victim blaming.

MichaelGoad · 03/01/2021 09:27

That the best way of dealing with a philandering husband is finding an incompetent overheated lawyer, making ducks argue with each other and covering him with foliage.

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 03/01/2021 09:29

Also this isn’t allowed on mumsnet but I have seen transphobic posts. On FWR they say ‘report them!’ Or ‘where?’ But they are insidious and buried among really very informative and wise Gender Critical arguments.
An example: nasty comments about Jan Morris. I’m all for discussing the gender debate and if I’m honest I probably have been ‘radicalised by Mumsnet’ Grin but using for debate/being nasty about a 90+ year old woman (who was trans) isn’t on.

GnomeDePlume · 03/01/2021 09:29

It is possible to have a plastic lawn and a wide variety of plants in your garden. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Ginfordinner · 03/01/2021 09:30

I love hot weather, and wearing summer clothes.

scubadub · 03/01/2021 09:31

"Anxiety" is thrown around waaaaay too much...go to work and get on with it. Everyone feels anxious at times...it is normal! Thinking that it is exclusive to you is idiotic.
