I would say

Pineapple on pizza is decent

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 03/01/2021 00:45

If a PP thinks no-one needs to travel for work, how the fuck does she think most of the food gets to the supermarkets? 🤣🤣🤣

PoppiesinOctober · 03/01/2021 00:46

Houses that are all grey and crushed velvet look tacky

I think anxiety gets bandied around too much on here, as does narcissism. Just because your MIL has the audacity to turn up unannounced once, and buys your DC presents, doesn't mean they're narcissistic.

I also think LTB is used far too much, and I wouldn't ever leave my DH for more than half the things I see on here.

Just because you went to a RG uni doesn't mean you're any better than anyone else

I think psychics are real

There's too much handwringing over neighbour noise on here. When will people learn the difference between a full on rave, and normally family noise.

No is not a complete sentence, and I can bet that the people that spout that nonsense on here wouldn't ever say it in real life

Fuckingcrustybread · 03/01/2021 00:46

@RosesAndHellebores

My DC are brilliant and were advanced as toddlers My DH likes his hankies and boxers pressed and his socks folded - and that’s fine Cooking is a life skill It is not difficult to have a clean and tidy house There is not much wrong with capitalism Margaret Thatcher was an absolute hero Make up and highlights are fine Pink is lovely for little girls There is nothing wrong with a woman making the best of herself Red meat is a fantastic treat twice a week There’s nothing wrong with ensuring your DC have pretty much what they want and it doesn’t make them spoilt Nobody should pay more tax than they have to Teachers and nurses need to be effectively performance managed like other employees Drs are not God and should treat other humans as their equals God exists Marmite is vile
I was agreeing with all you said until Marmite is vile. You heretic, you're such a disgraceful person, that's just sooooooooooooo shocking. 🤣
ChestnutStuffing · 03/01/2021 00:46

Online education for kids is basically shit and governments trying to convince people otherwise don't particularly believe it. The vast majority of online degrees are shit, and are intended as money-makers for cash strapped universities.

It really is not at all harmful for a society to have gendered differenced in clothing styles so long as they aren't directly harmful or sexualised(corsets, foot binding, etc)

We'd be better off if universities were smaller and fewer people went to them.

Energy efficiency and recycling and electric cars won't solve the environmental problem.

Veganism is nowhere near the most sustainable type of farming

The male dominated places I've worked had a lot less hierarchical bs than the female dominated ones.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 00:47

I don’t think dawn french is a national treasure.she’s ok not but worthy of the mn gushing

EwwwwDavid · 03/01/2021 00:47

I also have to say. I live in a city where most men work away. My DH did for a bit but gave it up when we had the kids.

freakyfairy · 03/01/2021 00:47

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee I'm not touchy at all. Just can't quite believe how ridiculous you are letting yourself come across...Hmmanyway...

JovialNickname · 03/01/2021 00:48

Marry someone before you breed with them.

Flywheel · 03/01/2021 00:48

It's Haitch
(runs for cover)

freakyfairy · 03/01/2021 00:50

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee but just so you know even though my dh works away...he spends half of the year at home. (More than a normal working 9-5 type dad) and he pays no tax for the pleasure 🤣🤣 it's bloody fantastic.

Knucklehead101 · 03/01/2021 00:50

Endless swimming lessons are a waste of time. As long as they can swim well enough to get themselves out of difficulties it's a waste of time and money.

Children should be allowed to get bored and dont need entertaining constantly

McDonalds is really actually OK and pretty good value for money.

Theres nothing wrong with being a chav if you do it enthusiastically. Mediocrity is far worse

Cokie3 · 03/01/2021 00:51

People who say "placemarking" are ignorant idiots taking up posts. There is a function on here called WATCH THIS THREAD, you click on it, and there is no need to write 'placemarking'.

I’m v bemused at the BUT BUT he must work posts. He’s a Tobogganist don’t you know. A tobogganist who can’t be substituted anyone else .He delivers essential meds, fixes satellites, drives trucks and delivers groceries.

ilovesooty · 03/01/2021 00:52

@Pieceofpurplesky

That this thread has allowed all the racist, sexist and homophobic mumsnetters a voice ...
Definitely.
Gemma2019 · 03/01/2021 00:53

I hate being given baked goods and home made food stuff as gifts and don't eat it

Aldi and Lidl food is horrible - it's cheap for a reason and is an awful shopping experience

Most private schools are way better than state

I iron all of our clothes as I think it looks much nicer and makes me feel better when wearing them

My children have never been to McDonalds as it's total shit and shouldn't even qualify as food

We don't have TVs in bedrooms in our house

UpHereForDancing · 03/01/2021 00:53

I haven't RTFT yet but @CrotchBurn sort of summed it up for me!

noirchatsdeux · 03/01/2021 00:54

I hate dogs.

Staying together 'for the sake of the children' is a fucking lie. You are staying because you don't want to give up the lifestyle. Believe me, as someone has been there, your kids know how much you hate each other. And they won't thank either of you for it later.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 03/01/2021 00:55

I recycle gifts. I don’t individually shop for every gift. I have a drawer of stuff to recycle
If I receive gifts with a resale value I sell on eBay.

Pinkiii · 03/01/2021 00:57

I always get flamed for this when mentioned on other forums:

Your dog/cat is NOT your child, you are not a fur mama/mummy or daddy they are not your son/daughter

Yes you love them but you are a pet owner!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 03/01/2021 00:58

Anyone adding ‘Ooh, I’ll get flamed for this!’ or or to their posts on this thread is actually desperately hoping for this to happen, because they live for attention.

sergeilavrov · 03/01/2021 00:58

Whether a job is difficult is frequently more a comment on your capability than the job itself. Everyone tells themselves their job is challenging, but that’s about self comfort - and often has no bearing on reality.

No, they most likely don’t have ADHD or autism. They’re just annoying. I think these comments do a disservice to those who actually have these challenges, while also allowing arsehole children to become arsehole adults without intervention.

Breastfeeders have emerged as some sort of mafia, and need to stay out of people’s business.

Luckyrabbitfoot · 03/01/2021 00:59

Dogs are disgusting.

Breastfeeding is superior to bottle feeding.

And my most controversial....stocking presents should be UNWRAPPED!

amatsip · 03/01/2021 00:59

Tampax Pearl are a game changer.

Mooncup is awful.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 03/01/2021 00:59

@BritWifeinUSA Agreed. I live in the US and I don't think I could ever go back to the NHS. The stories I hear on here of women being denied epidurals, pain relief and c-sections are absolutely barbaric, and yet people seem to be fine with it? I had all kinds of health problems which I couldn't get help with in the UK. Moved here and they were diagnosed and fixed in no time.

Outside of that, my unpopular opinions are:

  • Children and dogs can live very happily in flats and do live very happily in flats in many parts of the world.
  • There's nothing wrong with sleep training.
  • Anyone who demands to return to their full time job part time after mat leave is an entitled idiot who's about to mummy track themselves.
  • Nothing wrong with putting kids in designer clothes or attaching your TV to the wall.
CloseSchoolsProtecttheNHS · 03/01/2021 00:59

Captain Tom didn't raise the money, the public did. What he did was cute but it was the press and social media picking up the story and the outpouring of support that created the amazing monetary outcome. He's not 'an amazing fundraiser' he just did a nice thing and got extremely lucky.
