To drink the Baileys even though I dropped a rose in it?

Poured myself a glass of Baileys as a treat for after I'd finished arranging some flowers only to drop a rose in it! Shock. I fished it out but the thought of drinking it makes me feel a bit Confused. Am I being daft? Should I just neck it down?

Er yes. It's Bailey's, don't waste it.

CarlGrimesRightEyeball · 01/01/2021 18:48

Unless you mean steaming dog turd rather than you know, a flower, then of course you should drink it Confused

sadcatdiary · 01/01/2021 18:49

Drink up!

SmidgenofaPigeon · 01/01/2021 18:49

Are you normally quite anxious? Because it sounds like a bit of an overreaction.

drivingmisspotty · 01/01/2021 18:49

Pretty sure roses are edible anyway. I make a great Nigella chocolate cake with rose petals on top.

ChrisPriss · 01/01/2021 18:52

Roses are lovely, drink it all up xxx

christmaspigeon · 01/01/2021 18:53

Thanks everyone. I just get a bit squeamish with food. Down the hatch it goes! Smile

That's a case of stultitia ridiculum rather than rosa veneficium!

They absolutely are btw
MrsGrindah · 01/01/2021 18:56

Was it a Cadbury’s Roses? Grin

Anycrispsleft · 01/01/2021 18:58

I think you can probably eat more roses with no ill effects than you can drink glasses of Bailey's Grin

Sparklesocks · 01/01/2021 18:59

You’ll be grand

WestSideBoom · 01/01/2021 19:03

We used to paint toss petals with egg white and sprinkle sugar on and eat them when we were children.

WestSideBoom · 01/01/2021 19:03

*rose

Actually drinking Baileys in my defence.

TheFlis12345 · 01/01/2021 19:04

Roses are completely edible! And the petals are actually quite tasty.

Cam77 · 01/01/2021 19:17

A rose? A rose dipped in Baileys? When I were lad we’d be fighting half the street off for a nibble of the piss soaked nettles growing under neighbour’s hedge.

You had piss soaked nettles? We had moss. Rat pooped on moss. And not the nice fluffy kind. Pff. Nettles. Posh lad

@CarlGrimesRightEyeball 😂😂

CarlGrimesRightEyeball · 01/01/2021 19:21

This thread is responsible for me drinking Baileys and I really need to stop drinking Baileys because a) it is making me fat (ter) and b) my liver is pickled tae fuck.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 01/01/2021 19:23

Am i seriously the only one on MN (except teetotals) who doesn't have Bailey's at home?😂😂😂

1Morewineplease · 01/01/2021 19:24

Rose petals are edible.

Fluffyhairforever · 01/01/2021 19:25

Sounds like a posh garnish.

EugenesAxe · 01/01/2021 19:26

Roses are edible. Any bugs on the rose (very unlikely if shop bought) will float and be able to be picked out.

I wouldn't give this a second thought! Totally drink the lovely alcoholic cream.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 01/01/2021 19:26

@SchrodingersImmigrant I don't have Baileys! I do however, have gin.

YouCanWorkItOut · 01/01/2021 19:26

The title of this thread sounds like the start of a lovely haiku.
