To drink the Baileys even though I dropped a rose in it?

Poured myself a glass of Baileys as a treat for after I'd finished arranging some flowers only to drop a rose in it! Shock. I fished it out but the thought of drinking it makes me feel a bit Confused. Am I being daft? Should I just neck it down?

Mine isn't real Baileys. It is fake "Peaky Blinders" baileys. I don't even like Baileys but I thought I would 'try' this and now it is nearly all gone....

I said Baileys way too many times up there.

divafever99 · 01/01/2021 19:27

A lot worse would have to fall in mine to stop me drinking it! Grin Enjoy!

taxxigirl · 01/01/2021 23:01

Last night I dropped a playdoh cauliflower in my wine. Plucked it out, drank the wine.

There was a thread on here the other day where someone had found a large dead insect in a bottle, not all in one piece I might add, so they tipped it away. Suggestions ranged from "you should have got a refund" to " you should have poured it through a sieve and picked out the body parts". So I'd say dropping a rose in it is the very least of anyone's Baileys worries.
@SchrodingersImmigrant I don't have Baileys! I do however, have gin.
I have a quality lager or wine🙈

I read that as rosé and thought - meh I’d still give it a go.

Calmandmeasured1 · 01/01/2021 23:54

I was going to say the alcohol content will sanitise the rose and I found out went to the booze cupboard and am now contemplating a Bailey's before bedtime it is 17% by volume. Just glug loads to offset any slight germ you could pick up from the rose.

MiddleClassProblem · 01/01/2021 23:56

You’ve created a very fancy petit four

FibroFighter81 · 02/01/2021 00:11

Mix in some icing sugar till stiff, roll into balls. Refrigerate.
Warm some chocolate sauce in a ramekin, dip the baileys balls in the choc and enjoy.

You're welcome.

Although roses are edible, cut flowers are often treated with a lot of pesticides and they aren't safe to eat. I would throw it out.

BaronessBomburst · 02/01/2021 00:17

What were you serving the Bailey's in that a rose actually fitted into the glass? A rose head is larger than a liqueur glass, surely?
Were you using a casserole dish?

BillMasheen · 02/01/2021 00:27

I don’t have baileys in the house.

I have very Mild lactose intolerance, and the cream content gives me the shits. I seem to be OK with avocaat though. (Obviously all this has been rigorously tested so I know what’s safe 🤣)

To drink the Baileys
Even though I dropped a rose
In to the mixture

To drink the Baileys
Despite the addition of
A falling pink rose

HoxtonBonnet · 02/01/2021 00:36

Polished our Baileys off tonight (without any roses). Tossed the last mouthful back a bit over enthusiastically and ended up covered in the stuff. DH at the other end of the sofa studiously pretended not to notice as I wiped it all off my jumper and jeans. Loss of dignity aside, I was very upset to lose that last swig.

Surely a tumbler would fit a rose head?
hansgrueber · 02/01/2021 00:38

Pity to spoil a lovely rose! I can't bear Baileys though.

trixiebelden77 · 02/01/2021 00:41

If this happened in a restaurant it would be ‘rose infused Bailey’s’ and cost an extra five pounds.

Fuckitsstillraining · 02/01/2021 01:19

Put down the Baileys, get yourself a bottle of Cooleswan, its delicious, its lighter and tastier than Baileys, I was a Baileys drinker until I found this, haven't bought Baileys since

Toddlerteaplease · 02/01/2021 10:31

Does anyone else out a Tipple in their coffee. It's a little plastic pot of Bailey and brandy cream. Omg divine. Really difficult to find but B&M have them at Christmas.
