Neighbours having a gathering for 20 people tonight!

We live on a private drive tucked away with 5 houses. Our neighbours (very sociable, always breaking Covid rules) invited us neighbours out earlier for a socially distanced drink round a fire pit on his drive, spilling over to ours. Didn’t fancy it tbh. Glad I didn’t cause he’s obviously invited loads of his friends too! So fed up of this now! Selfish people making it worse for everyone else! I wouldn’t mind but he’s always moaning about covidiots on Facebook.

Good I hope they have a fabulous time. I'm sure they are willing to do their best against a virus with a 99.98% survival rate.
I hope you have no elderly, ill or front line workers in your family. Because they will be the 0.02%. And that’s who die. Survivors can be very ill for a very long time time. Your attitude WILL infect those whose bodies cannot cope with it. As the Dr today said, blood on your hands.
Indecentobsession · 31/12/2020 21:13

Bollocks to distancing, bollocks to whether it's outdoors IT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING!!! ffs it won't kill anyone not to "get together" for the sake of a day that happens to be new year's eve however it can kill someone to get together. "I'd join them" "hope they have fun" brigade, karma's a bitch and hope it bites you hard!

@gamerchick

Police are patrolling around here looking for parties. If it bothers you then report it.

Personally I've lost interest in other people. People are knobs. They deserve everything they get.

The problem is it's the people who didn't deserve it who are suffering as a result of these cockwombles
Wannabangbang · 31/12/2020 21:14

People that are selfish enough to have a party right now shouldn't be allowed to be treated! They'll soon be crying for their freedoms when are in a coma

littlepattilou · 31/12/2020 21:14
@Yoshinori Ha ha good one! I nearly fell for it then realised that nobody in real life could be that stupid
Also, anyone who was having a party for 20, would NOT be spending time posting crap on mumsnet. Grin

Some people must think people on here are as thick as mince. Grin

Mreggsworth · 31/12/2020 21:15

@Yoshinori

How do you know you or anyone you are seeing tonight dont have it ? I enjoyed Christmas within the '3 household' rule thinking it was fine as we all didn't have symptoms. Now everyone who came has the virus as does 2 other families of one of the people who visited on Christmas day as they went to drop presents off on boxing day...and God knows if they've passed it on too!

GoldenLabbie · 31/12/2020 21:15

@Yoshinori

Good for them ! We’re having a party of around 20 people as well and I dare anyone to challenge. We know we don’t have covid.
Unless you’ve had a test in the last 24 hours then you really don’t know that you don’t have Covid.
Tellmelies65 · 31/12/2020 21:16

Report them that’s quite a large gathering

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 31/12/2020 21:16

@Redrunbluerun

These people are breaking the NHS, they want to listen to some of the critical care consultants, almost in tears, unable to cope. People blame the government, but it’s selfish people like this with blood on their hands. The rules are there, bloody follow them.
Then these consultants should aim their anger towards the Government who have cut beds, closed wards, stopped NHS students bursary's meaning student nurses applications have fallen because of it? I could go on, seen it first hand over Winter for many years, yet even during a Pandemic they close the Nightingale hospitals. You could not make this level of shit up.
Bikingbear · 31/12/2020 21:18

@fluffy71

Yeah all other neighbours were going. So only us not attending. My dads 87 and not had the jab yet so don’t want to risk it. Think I’ll just ignore it. They’ll suspect it’s me if they get nabbed. Bloody annoying though. He’s sneaky getting everyone out on the communal drive rather than his garden as can claim he’s not the party holder I imagine.
In that case I'd ignore. You never know the day when you need your neighbours to help you out.

It dead easy for folk to say report when they don't need to live beside them. Falling out with neighbours is never a good thing.

They closed nightingale hospitals because there aren’t enough staff to man them, not because they’re not needed.

You can be angry at more than one thing at a time. Yes, the governments long policies of underfunding etc haven't helped. But ultimately people are driving the spread. Some of them accidentally, and some, just because they are cunts who want to a have a party and fuck everybody else.

Tenyearsgone · 31/12/2020 21:20

Fucking hell. Can't you all just STOP!

Go have a drink ffs

Mintjulia · 31/12/2020 21:20

I'd make an exception and call 101.

Oh how wonderful! Just think, you can all slap yourselves on your backs for being sooooo rebellious!! Twats. All you're doing is stirring the pot. Twats. Get a life. Twats.

You’re so looking forward to your party that you’re on Mumsnet whilst you wait for the fun to start. 🤣🤣🤣 My guess is you don’t have 19 people to invite to a party taking place under your bridge.

Inthemuckheap · 31/12/2020 21:23

If they're on the communal drive I'd report. Fed up of selfish fuckers.

queenofknives · 31/12/2020 21:23

Hope they have a fantastic time, OP! Why don't you go round and join in for a drink, might cheer you up, and remind you of some of the important things in life! Happy new year!

missrks · 31/12/2020 21:24

I'm jealous

Fuckingcrustybread · 31/12/2020 21:24

@DominaShantotto

I believe the correct resolution to this is to whine about it on Mumsnet, then while about it on your local Facebook groups under the cover of anonymity and then stand there tutting at the window huffing and puffing and twitching the curtains.

It's been well proven that that is the ultimate way to produce a change in human behaviour and make the world a lovely sunshiney place to live in.

Love you ❤️❤️🤣🤣

It's after 9, shouldn't you be getting reading to party rather than mumsnetting Hmm
GwendolineMarysLaces · 31/12/2020 21:25

Survival rate isn't 98.98%- it's probably a lot lower but nobody actually knows as it's difficult to quantify asymptotic cases. Doesn't stop this figure being chucked around by Covid deniers though.

On the other hand, I couldn't get too upset about an outdoor gathering as risk likely to be low. Indoors would be much more risky.

user1471565182 · 31/12/2020 21:26

Id report them. Dont give a fuck if people call me 'covid police' or whatever. Ive done my bloody bit and im sick of everybody else taking the piss. 2 bloody months ive been waiting just to go on a date with somebody who lives down the road.
