Neighbours having a gathering for 20 people tonight!

We live on a private drive tucked away with 5 houses. Our neighbours (very sociable, always breaking Covid rules) invited us neighbours out earlier for a socially distanced drink round a fire pit on his drive, spilling over to ours. Didn’t fancy it tbh. Glad I didn’t cause he’s obviously invited loads of his friends too! So fed up of this now! Selfish people making it worse for everyone else! I wouldn’t mind but he’s always moaning about covidiots on Facebook.

Christmasfairy2020 can you please not use the name Karen to put peoples opinions down. Its seriously rude and disrespectful.
Im confident if everyone was using your name in such a manner you would be finding it at least irritating and at most fucking infuriating 😡
Thank you

@Anotherpointofview1

Good I hope they have a fabulous time. I'm sure they are willing to do their best against a virus with a 99.98% survival rate.
Yep
earnshaw47 · 01/01/2021 18:46

watched an interview yesterday with a front line doctor. , you could so tell he was shattered, he said that anyone who did not socially distant or didnt wear masks had blood on their hands,

Ddot · 01/01/2021 18:47

When beds run out and nhs have to choose who to treat. Do you think those who flouted the rules will say, oh it's fine I put myself at risk I will do without the oxygen.

Lianne1977 · 01/01/2021 18:50

Oh I’m so bored and sad about these bloody idiots...I’ve spent much of last year indoors as I’m serious asthmatic on injections to keep me alive, I want too see my children grow up. I desperately don’t want to do the same this year as I’m still recovering from pnd and my mental heath is on the wire.
Please, please can I ask those that can, to try to adhere to the rules so my children will still have a mum

Ddot · 01/01/2021 18:54

My friend has cancer, no treatment due to covid.
Get your friggin mask on and get the fu** away from people.
Stop being a selfish numpty.
I personally think if you get caught having a party you should go on a list of none treatment.
Believe me that would stop them in their tracks

luckylavender · 01/01/2021 19:01

@Anotherpointofview1 - that's right, turn a blind eye. Hospitals overwhelmed, schools closing. But hey crack on, do what you want.

Cantbelievelife · 01/01/2021 19:07

Close your blinds and move on. Your neighbour will be your neighbour a long time...the one who watches your house when you go away, takes in your parcel, lends you a cup of sugar, grits your drive...

Frostybex · 01/01/2021 19:12

999 is for emergencies only.

This cannot possibly be correct. We're well past 0.02% of the population having died due to covid. (~80,000 deaths, UK population around 70 million implies that at least 0.1% have died)

Please try and put statistics in context ...

mumof2exhausted · 01/01/2021 19:41

You can report them online . Selfish pricks.

SoupDragon · 01/01/2021 19:46

Bit late now.
YankeeinKingArthursCourt · 01/01/2021 20:00

@Cantbelievelife

"Close your blinds and move on"? Are you for real? It's this head in the sand, I'm alright Jack mentality which has led to the UK having some of the highest Covid deaths / death rates in the world.

(And neighbours likely won't be "neighbours for a long time". After hosting their superspeader event, they may not be around for much longer ...).

thenovice · 01/01/2021 20:37

Report them. Some poor medic who has to risk his life treating one of them. They will have "blood on their hands" if someone gets ill and dies as a consequence. I lost my BIL that way and now my sister is a widow and their children have no daddy.

Ticketybootoo · 01/01/2021 21:53

So they should be reported without a doubt and I know this sounds a bit serious . I am an ex NHS ITU nurse and had an Xmas card from. A friend who is working 12 he shifts on a COVID unit . She herself is working with impaired vision due to a benign tumour in her brain having had radiotherapy but still doing her best to help save other people . Frankly I think some people don’t get it ; it’s not just the suffering of the patients themselves and their families - the people who are caring for multiple sad and critical cases caused by this virus will suffer their own trauma . That’s why I sound like the Stasi !

miserableannie · 01/01/2021 21:55

Wow what a bunch of drama llamas on here tonight. 'Call the police immediately. Now, don't wait'
Give over you fucking idiots

Jeeperscreepers69 · 01/01/2021 22:09

@fluffy71 phone police. My neighbours had 10 people in. All got a grand each fine 👮‍♀️

user1472231578 · 01/01/2021 23:10

Is he outside and socially distancing? Leave him be. Life is too short. If they get covid its their own faults. Just stay away from him as he is obv mixing with too many

Furries · 01/01/2021 23:29

Just a small hunch - don’t think they’re still partying! Doesn’t anyone even look at the time a post goes up?!

Dowser · 01/01/2021 23:39

Can’t see the problem if they are socially distancing, washing hands.
I’d be far more upset at loud music and karaoke from them keeping me up till the early hours.

If they are meeting and being sensible and not causing a nuisance
Then it would be fine by me.

Restart2020 · 01/01/2021 23:55

Bit late replying on this but we need zero tolerance - report them. I’m sick of selfish idiots making this nightmare go on and on and have lost so many friends to this horrible disease that I feel could have stopped sooner if people acted sensibly & compassionately

Agreed
Selfish bloody idiot
Jesus I wish this type of git was forced to repeat their words in ICU

strivingforjustice · 02/01/2021 00:11

The deaths should be looked at in context as they had to say ‘ died with Covid ‘ not from Covid in many cases, that misnomer had been picked up early on in this pandemic.
Up until December there were 377 deaths recorded from the start of Covid in those under 60 with no co morbidities, in other words healthy. This is NHS own data.
I am not saying deaths are any less sad with age but average life expectancy is 82 if in good health.
Someone elderly with COPD, emphysema for example is far more likely to die of say flu or pneumonia with complications from their illness in any year.
