Everything’s gone to pot this year and I’ve been getting up, dressed and brushing my teeth, end of.

I’ve no longer any idea of what’s normal!

What’s your morning and evening routine and how long does it take?

Bonus points for sharing what time you get up and go to bed. I’m having to start from scratch here!

Depends on what I'm doing.
School run wash face, brush teeth get dressed.
Work or appointment maybe an hour I'd blow dry hair and put some makeup on.
I always plan my outfit the night before to save time.

listsandbudgets · 26/12/2020 12:29

Brush teeth, wash face with cold water, dry and shove on some mostouiser, brush hair and tie back, apply deodorant and perfume. I usually where at night as mornings a rush but if I feel particularly grubby I'll snatch a very quick shower.

Never worn makeup so don't need to worry about that

VestaTilley · 26/12/2020 12:30

Very little. I’ve ditched make up and feel all the better for it. After showering I put on deodorant, I clean my teeth, brush my hair, and put decent moisturizer on my face.

I wore makeup on Christmas Day for the first time in months!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 26/12/2020 12:47

About 20 minutes in the morning - brush teeth, shower straighten the bits of my hair that I can see. Most evenings however long it takes to clean my teeth, although I wash my hair once or twice a week, dry it and straighten it so that takes about an hour.

I haven't worn makeup since March, I'm only having teams meetings so I don't see the point.

LaBellina · 26/12/2020 12:50

Morning routine : shower, brush teeth, apply serum and SPF plus do hair and make up : 30 minutes.

Evening routine: shower, brush and floss teeth. Skincare routine is applying toner (after washing face in the shower) and then rosehip oil which I massage into my skin with a facial roller. Takes about 30 minutes as well.

LaBellina · 26/12/2020 12:52

Oh and deodorant/ perfume after
morning shower!

MummaBear4321 · 26/12/2020 12:54

I get up whenever my 6 week old wakes, usually around 6am, and then my 2 year old wakes around 7. If I have looked in a mirror or brushed my teeth by 10am I am doing well. I try to have a shower in the evening when DD1 is in bed so my hair gets washed then. In fairness even before the kids I was never big on makeup, even for work. I just had a shower, brushed my teeth, and brushed my hair. I am low maintenance to the extreme.

Bluesername · 26/12/2020 12:54

Shower, moisturiser with sunscreen, teeth. No makeup unless a special occasion.

firesong · 26/12/2020 13:00

If it's during the holidays I get up about 8:30 or 9 (my kids are late risers). It's earlier for work.

I spend about 15 minutes on make up. Yep, even when nobody will see me Grin No idea why! Shower and dry hair: 15 mins. Get dressed: couple of minutes. Sometimes the shower and hair wash is done much later in the day depending what's going on.

Bedtime routine is just taking off my makeup with face wipes and applying some aveeno moisturiser. Takes about 3-5 minutes. And brush my teeth.

Strokethefurrywall · 26/12/2020 13:05

Up at 5am to work out, home by 6.30am.
Shower, teeth, hair, dressed, make up take about 20 mins and I'm in the car by 7.15am to drop kids to school.

I don't faff around with anything remotely personal grooming-esque. I'd like to be someone who does their nails and wears lots of different facial products but it turns out I just don't care enough to keep it up.

The best I can manage is some juvederm and regular retinol use.

firesong · 26/12/2020 13:06

Oh, and my make up usually is: bit of concealer on any red bits or eye circles, liquid eyeliner on top and kohl on bottom. Curl lashes and add mascara. Light bronzer/highlighter stuff. When I was in the office I wore eyeshadow too, but seldom bother with that at the mo. Same with blusher.

firesong · 26/12/2020 13:07

If I paint my nails it's once a week and done in the evening. I like painting all my nails different colours so it doesn't matter if one colour rubs off, I can stick on whatever colour I like

lilylongjohn · 26/12/2020 13:13

I've long hair. So I put it up and don't wash it every day. I always have a shower, skincare facial routine and a bit of make-up. Probably takes 15/20 mins a day. If I wash my hair it'll be about half an hour

OllysArmy · 26/12/2020 13:13

Every morning shower, wash hair about 5 times a week, shave underarms daily in summer, weekly in winter, use face was in shower.
Lenses in, brush teeth.
Tone, moisturise, pluck eyebrows (remove a couple of stragglers daily, where I used to get them threaded every 3 weeks)
Primer and then choice of foundation depending on what the day holds, just powder for internal zoom meetings and wfh, foundation for client zooms or rare trips to the office, tinted cream for lazy sunny days or nothing if I can get away with it.
Eyeliner, blush and lip hydration.
Dry hair.
This process takes 30 mins.
Moisturise body as necessary and quick spray of perfume, pull on a presentable top and comfy bottoms - my new wardrobe.
Grab a coffee and fire up my laptop ready for 8-9 hours of work.
I try to exercise at lunchtime and have big plans for 2021 to improve my appalling fitness.
Evenings are about cooking dinner and relaxing
My nighttime routine should be, remove make up, moisturise face and body, then relax. Mostly I manage to remove my lenses. Again I am looking to try harder in 2021.
Alarm at 7:15 at desk for 8:00, this is 30 minutes more in bed now I wfh
Bedtime is 11:15 and I need to start earlier than 11 so I wind down

justanotherneighinparadise · 26/12/2020 13:15

A good hour i would say.

EmmaWithTheGreatHair · 26/12/2020 13:19

Up, shower, make up, dry hair every day without fail.

Only take about 30 mins. Hair is straight as a poker anyway so quick blast with hairdryer and I’m good to go.

If I don’t do this I feel yuck. My hair is fine and goes greasy quickly, I just feel more ‘me’ and it’s just part of my daily routine.

EmmaWithTheGreatHair · 26/12/2020 13:21

I’ve never taken my makeup off in the evenings Blush then again, by evening there’s not much to take off, I don’t put lots of thick makeup on to begin with.

Mydogisagentleman · 26/12/2020 13:21

Work days, up at 5.30, shower , hair wash, teeth, coffee cigs or the door
Days off, the same

EmmaWithTheGreatHair · 26/12/2020 13:22

Today is an exception though and I’m still in pj’s, will be showering in a minute.

Lillygolightly · 26/12/2020 13:32

I am amazed at people who can have a 5 minute shower, but maybe that’s because I have long hair and am incapable of having a shower or bath without shaving my legs, arms etc. I just don’t feel properly clean unless I’ve shaved and washed my hair so I have to do it, and the quickest I can manage this is in 15 minutes.

So for me it’s:

15 minute shower
10-12 minutes minimum to blow dry hair, and that’s just a rough blow dry.
5 minutes to brush teeth and cleanse and moisturise face.
5-10 minutes if wearing make up I don’t always.
5 minutes to get dressed.

So depending my morning routine can be anything from 35 minutes to almost an hour.

Evening/bed time I put PJ’s on at the earliest opportunity, as I like to be comfortable which is usually after dinner time. I usually take my make up off and do my skin care right after putting the youngest to bed. Before sleep I take my vitamins and brush my teeth and hopefully go to sleep and hope to not get woken too many times by the little one.

vanillandhoney · 26/12/2020 13:36

Including a shower, maybe 20 minutes.

TryingnottobeWaynettaSlob · 26/12/2020 13:44

Am/ shower, moisturiser wash hair if needed, 10 min makeup 5 min hair.
Pm bath , face wash, and scrub or mask if needed. Moisturise body and face.
Once or twice a week do my nails.
Every two weeks tint eyebrows. Some times do a whole evening of mask, mani/pedi , brows, shave etc. It makes me feel good to be well groomed. Have just done mine and DDs nails very sparkly!

LoveMyKidsAndCats · 26/12/2020 13:55

As a teen my hair and make up took me over an hour now I can do both in literally 3 minutes.

Grellbunt · 26/12/2020 14:04

But who looks after your kids when you do all this? I’m amazed

MummaBear4321 · 26/12/2020 15:13

@Grellbunt that's what I am thinking!! Either these are single people, women in their 50s with adult kids, or mums with some sort of insanely well behaved and patient children who dont do things like see how many items they can drop into a glass of water (including your phone), or how many items they can pull out of the kitchen cabinets, when your back is turned.
