Tier 4 and all plans cancelled. Despite having children who will enjoy the day, AIBU for wanting it all to be over?

I was gonna say YABU but you aren’t really if that’s how u feel , it’s shit when things get cancelled. My plans haven’t changed I was down to work Xmas day anyway and dc at their dads so it was never going to be an amazing Xmas over here but we will be having “ second Christmas “ when they are home and am looking forward to that massively and we’ve had a nice couple of christmassy days this week already .

We tend to have small christmases anyway as I prefer been in my own home for it so other than celebrating it a bit late I suppose for me not much has changed

I think am just trying to enjoy things and be in the moment more right now after a pretty shit year ( not just due to Covid )

So I hope you can Try enjoy it if u can , even just the time off and getting to relax at home with nice food n some games tv etc with your family Smile
@bendingspoons YY- my flat feeling is made worse by knowing that I ought to be more grateful, have it pretty good etc
Don't put yourself under any pressure to feel anything in particular.

It doesn't matter that you have it good, give yourself permission to feel a bit down at the fact Christmas will be a non-event for most of us, plans are in tatters, which probably includes you.

Just go with the flow and get through the day as best you can.
