To wonder if it was just my tescos that had no milk?

There was no milk in my local Tescos today. Or cream etc. Aibu to wonder why? Does it have something to do with Brexit/ Covid?

Mine had milk. Plenty.

RedHelenB · 23/12/2020 22:52

Plenty in the shop this morning. Milk is produced locally so can't see why Brexit or Covid would hinder supplies.

Wingedharpy · 23/12/2020 22:53

We shopped today in Asda and Tesco.
Milk and cream available in both.....and fresh veg and fruit.

Marmite27 · 23/12/2020 22:53

Ours had plenty of the huge bottles, none of the single pint ones though.

OppsUpsSide · 23/12/2020 22:53

We got milk in our delivery today

PurpleDaisies · 23/12/2020 22:53

No shortages of anything in the supermarkets here today.

CherryPieface · 23/12/2020 22:54

In Glasgow, no shortages of anything despite the usual Christmas crowds.

Supermarket where I work has so much milk the warehouse chiller is overflowing with the sodding stuff

Wildthingsx · 23/12/2020 22:57

No milk in mine!! South west

Treeerex · 23/12/2020 22:58

My Asda in NE Wales had plenty of most things. Even had Baileys.

The only thing I noticed an absence of was Irn Bru.

MrsJBaptiste · 23/12/2020 23:01

Sorry I saw plenty in Tesco, Sainsbury's and Lidl.

And yes, I was in each of these supermarkets today... 🙄

partyatthepalace · 23/12/2020 23:01

No. They ran out of milk. Don’t be alarmist.

The world is so hysterical right now you could start a run on cows. 🙄🐄

Alltheprettyseahorses · 23/12/2020 23:03

My nearest tesco superstore was fully stocked yesterday along with every other shop I've been in. In fact, the only thing that's been hard to get is broccoli for some reason - our local tesco express was overflowing with it last night but there was none left this morning so it may be buying patterns rather than any actual shortage.

DecemberDiana · 23/12/2020 23:04

Ours had plenty.

OverTheRubicon · 23/12/2020 23:07

Mine had that a few weeks ago, was really odd. Local temporary supply chain issues, maybe?

Haffiana · 23/12/2020 23:07

No salad, green veg or fruit apart from apples in my supermarket, and just a bit of milk. Still a fair bit of fruit juice, but that was going fast.

Plenty of potatoes, suedes and turnips though. I do love homegrown vegetables!

EachDubh · 23/12/2020 23:10

We have had no shortages as such but a lack of skimmed for a few weeks now. Either everyone is on a diet or something odd happened 🤔

Pipandmum · 23/12/2020 23:11

Plenty of milk at my tesco. Went in yesterday wasn't as packed as I thought it would be - plenty of turkeys left too!

I expect the delivery lorries have been heavily delayed, there's been a lot of traffic problems. My local Sains had plenty of milk, all types but no vegetables.
Graphista · 23/12/2020 23:18

Could be something as simple as the chiller broke down and they had to write off what was in there due to health and safety regs.

I used to work "dairy" in a supermarket ages ago and that happened on occasion and I understand rules even stricter now

Nousernameforme · 23/12/2020 23:32

Our online shop arrived with 3 4pint bottles as normal. So it seems like it was just yours maybe try your corner shop instead

babyguffingtonstrikesagain · 23/12/2020 23:38

No milk in Aldi yesterday

ChampionOfTheSun · 23/12/2020 23:40

Was in Morrisons earlier, had milk, cream etc. I got everything I needed to get and more!

Scbchl · 23/12/2020 23:43

I was in at 8pm and ours in Scotland had plenty.
