If you have Disney+ then I would recommend Godmothered.

coronafiona · 23/12/2020 18:52

Christmas chronicles is good

MrsLeclerc · 23/12/2020 18:52

Trying to think of the non-blockbusters:
Muppet Christmas Carol
Rudolph the red nose reindeer (stop motion)
Jingle all the way
The Wallace and Gromit films always feel Christmas like to me
Mickey’s Christmas Carol
The Grinch (animated one is on Netflix)

Polkadot52 · 23/12/2020 18:53

Mr jingle jangle

Keepkondoing · 23/12/2020 18:56

Zookeeper is one we stumbled on and found v funny. I second Christmas chronicles, the nativity films are also very lighthearted and funny,

Nowaynothappening · 23/12/2020 19:24

My DC liked Christmas chronicles, I thought it was dire.
We’ve all enjoyed home alone, Richie rich, parent trap, freaky Friday and the Harry Potter films this year. Pretty much everything else left someone bored or unhappy in some way.

Polly99 · 23/12/2020 19:42

I'm making my kids relive my 1980s childhood, so tonight they are "enjoying" Indiana Jones.

ISeeTheLight · 23/12/2020 19:47

A little princess
The newer disney/pixar ones incl Coco, Onward, Moana, Tangled, Zootropolis etc.
Nativity 1, 2, 3 (although probably for slightly younger kids)
The Prince of Egypt (warning this is quite graphic for an animation and might be too scary for 8 yo)
Anastasia
On Netflix - The Willoughby's (my 7yo really enjoyed this - fair bit of dark humour though)

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 23/12/2020 19:47

Christmas chronicles made me want to stab my own eyes out.

Conversely, I really enjoyed Jingle Jangle!

DroppedIt · 23/12/2020 20:13

Big Hero 6 - I'd never hard of it, was surprised how good it was and then googled it to find out it was really successful and won the Oscar for best animation! Missed that one then!

I taped Christmas with the Cranks on TV today, while I was at work.

That'll be our Christmas movie! It's in my top 3 Christmas films!
