My favourite Kelly's Cornish brand has gone up to £4.10 a tub! The dc would go through a tub in 2 servings each so that's a dear do. I only get it when on offer.

What's your brand of choice? And what his our too while we are at it Grin

I love vanilla, and honeycomb. Can't stand chocolate ice cream. Cheshire Ice cream farm is probably my ultimate brand but only available at the deli down the road.

I get whatever lidl or aldi have...sometimes when lidl have a French themed week they do a creme brulee flavoured ice cream...it's lovely!

goopsoup · 19/12/2020 12:10

We only buy ice cream when it's on offer!

Bought B&J waffle cone ice cream for the first time yesterday which is very nice.

GintyMcGinty · 19/12/2020 12:11

Mackies (it's Scottish) usually vanilla but sometimes chocolate

AVT5 · 19/12/2020 12:15

Make my own, I whisk condensed milk and double cream until thick and freeze. We prefer it to shop bought but you couldn't obvs have it a lot without a growing waistline Grin

Coldwinterahead1 · 19/12/2020 12:18

Today it's Ben and Jerry's, Co op
Offer 2 x goodfellas pizza and one tub of b&j for £4

Iamnotminterested · 19/12/2020 12:18

Coconut ice-cream, any brand from any shop Grin

QuestionableMouse · 19/12/2020 12:20

I've done that but find it leaves a nasty greasy mouth feel which is unpleasant.

I don't really eat ice cream but the Iceland tubs are nice and usually only a couple of quid.

IsolaPribby · 19/12/2020 12:22

My absolute favourite is Waitrose own brand Salted Butterscotch. It's delish! 😋

C0nn1e · 19/12/2020 12:25

Kelly's Cornish, £3 in Tesco on Thursday. Used to buy Mackies but then we tried Kelly's.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 19/12/2020 12:25

Magnum white ice-cream in the tub.

Brighterthansunflowers · 19/12/2020 12:27

B&J Netflix and Chilled

I only buy it when it’s on offer but it’s my favourite at the moment

FestiveFannyGallops · 19/12/2020 12:28

I'm going to get that co-op offer today I think. I make my own pizza but it's handy to have some in the freezer for when I can't be bothered making dough and marinara sauce. They have the Minter Wonderland too which is something I've not had in about 20 years but remember as being amazing. I did used to like Haagen Dazs Baileys and Midnight cookie.

Luca's of Musselburgh. Carrying on the famous Scots/Italian gelateria tradition! Any flavour really.

PandaBabyJuly · 19/12/2020 12:29

Minter Wonderland Ben & Jerry's or
Cookie dough - got both in tesco £3 each on Clubcard deals atm

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/12/2020 12:31

Lidl's Geltelli Bourbon Vanilla ... honestly the best I've found

Thy used to do a brilliant rum & raisin in the same range, but have discontinued it in favour of the ghastly salted caramel (waaaahhhh!!!)

Mominatrix · 19/12/2020 12:32

I normally make my own ice cream, so I know that it only really needs milk, cream, sugar, and egg yolk + flavour. The closest I can buy easily which is as close to home made is Green & Blacks or Yeo Organic.

chunkyrun · 19/12/2020 12:33

I love kellys! I just stock up when it's on offer

goopsoup · 19/12/2020 12:38

We also buy less ice cream because we only buy it we're going straight home, as don't like it when it melts and refreezes.

bilbodog · 19/12/2020 12:45

Duchy originals vanilla from Waitrose - delicious and nothing strange added

Tavannach · 19/12/2020 12:46

Haagen-Dazs Belgian Chocolate. If I'm ever in Musselburgh I get Strawberry from Luca's - totally delicious.

lifebytheby · 19/12/2020 12:57

Ben and Jerry's Tooped but it's £5.20 and doesn't last very long 😭

Haagen Dazs Belgian chocolate too.

Tinkletwat · 19/12/2020 13:09

Haagen Dazs or Waitrose own. So many ice creams are really rubbish now, far too much air in them. Mackies has really deteriorated since they started packaging it on the farm.

Otherwise I make my own, can choose different flavours and regulate how much sugar goes in.

Luca's of Musselburgh is ok but not a patch on Mary's in the Grassmarket who does take away bricks.

JovialNickname · 19/12/2020 13:18

I just tried Halo top ice cream yesterday (the cookie dough one) and was quite impressed! It's a diet ice cream so wasn't expecting much, but it's significantly better than I thought it would be. Plus they're only 250-350 cals for the WHOLE PINT TUB so it feels like pigging out when actually you're still being quite virtuous.

FOJN · 19/12/2020 13:35

Kelly's clotted cream ice cream.

DBML · 19/12/2020 13:45

If I’m in the UK it’s Joe’s and it’s vanilla. Sometimes I go a bit nuts and buy Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food.

If I’m in the US, then the offerings are far superior and my favourites are Bluebell’s ‘Brides Cake’ ice cream or the Cotton Candy flavour.....yummy!!!
