I tired I housekeeping and got barely any feedback.

My Dyson cordless v6 is shit. I have to plug it back in every 30 seconds for a few seconds to stop it flashing and work fir another 30. I've replaced the battery, filter, lovingly cleaned it.

Sales are coming and I'd like to replace it but with what? Recommendation please?

I bought a tineco a11. I was a complete dyson fan but like you got fed up with the crappy battery and also the fact that yoh had to hold the button the entire time (serious design flaw in my view).

Tineco is way cheaper and has two batteries...the filter can be chucked in the washing machine...it has a light at the front....I've never looked back.

I replaced mine with a shark
Loads better

Madwomanuptheroad29 · 17/12/2020 23:00

Miele - just needed to replace the one I bought in February 2001.
Busy house with dogs, cats, open fire and lots of kids.
Until it simply died it worked perfectly.

PetertheWalrus · 17/12/2020 23:02

Shark. Lighter weight and more efficient. We have a long-haired moggy. The Shark clears up cat hairs the Dyson wouldn't touch.

FlumpetCrumpet · 17/12/2020 23:09

We had an upright Dyson, one of the earlier pet hair models and it was very good, it died and we replaced it with a Shark cordless. I hate it, compared to the old Dyson I might as well suck up the dirt myself with a drinking straw. I'm now planning on having the old Dyson refurbished if we can.

TaraRhu · 17/12/2020 23:14

Get a shark. They are awesome. My dyson was rubbish. Still have a mini dyson - it runs out of power after about 5 mins and the door that keeps the 'crap in' falls open all the time (this is usually when the batteries about to run out - leaving a pile of the stuff you just hoovered all over the floor. Over rated brand

madaboutrunning · 17/12/2020 23:17

I've got a Gtech Air Ram. I've only had it a couple of weeks but I love it. We're a mucky bunch (although no pets) and it sucks everything up a treat.

gwenneh · 17/12/2020 23:19

@Madwomanuptheroad29 which Miele do you have? And do you have carpets?

I’m looking at a C3 and am curious.

pigsDOfly · 17/12/2020 23:24

Another Shark recommendation here. I absolutely love mine.

I've got a long hair dog that sheds everywhere. The Shark is really powerful, copes brilliantly with the hair and leaves the carpet looking fantastic; and the hair doesn't end up all round the roller either.

I used to have a Vax cordless. It spent more time in the cupboard waiting for replacement parts than it did in use. Gave up on it after the third head broke.

fourplusfour · 17/12/2020 23:26

Following as I'm replacing my vacuum in the new year too

prawntoastie · 17/12/2020 23:27

I had one and agree they are no good, especially for carpet.
Henry is the best hoover only issue it is big and you have to use a bag.
I also have a Vax pet which I find good, Brought for 99 pounds in the sale.

Redinthefacegirl · 17/12/2020 23:29

Shark! Seriously happy with ours, had It a few years now.

Floralnomad · 17/12/2020 23:30

We have a vacuum collection and prefer both the Shark cordless and the Bosch Athlet cordless to the Dyson . My sister has the latest Dyson and I don’t think that’s as good as the Shark either , she also has a gtech and that is crap it’s so plasticky .

I love my shark. I thought it was shit at first as it suddenly stopped picking stuff up but I realised I hadn't cleaned the filters. As soon as I did it worked brilliantly again. I now keep a spare set of filters so I can change them and a spare battery so I would factor that into your buying costs. The battery lasts about 20 minutes on full power but take quite a while to charge so I definitely recommend having two.

HappyHomeWorker · 17/12/2020 23:39

Shark. Night and day with the Dyson. Mine did the same as yours, was close to smashing it with a hammer at the end.

MrsMarrio · 17/12/2020 23:45

Dyson v11, it's amazing. I clean a few houses and use lots of hoovers and it's the best by far. I upgraded from a v8 and there is a massive difference

ChristmasCookies · 17/12/2020 23:46

Shark 100%

justasking111 · 17/12/2020 23:49

The shark pet lift away absolutely amazing, had a dyson before that but the shark knocked it out of the water picking up wise.

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 17/12/2020 23:54

I've had a Henry for ten years and whilst he is brilliant and indestructible, he's also heavy and cumbersome, we now have a cordless shark with the a anti hair wrap and pet heads, brilliant and so easy to just whizz it round of an evening after the toddler has gone to bed, on a full charge I can do our 3 bed semi (3 reception rooms) and the kettle motorised grass attachment is brilliant for the stairs and the car. We've kept Henry for DIY etc, he definitely has his place. We got our shark in the January sales last year for a really good price so worth waiting if you can

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 17/12/2020 23:55

*little motorised head attachment

Misbeehived · 17/12/2020 23:57

Miele is great I hate Dyson. Kept thinking it was my lack of cleaning aptitude. NO it very definitely is Dyson products are not very good.

Catnuzzle · 17/12/2020 23:58

I just got a shark. Love it. It even has headlights!!!!

HelebethH · 18/12/2020 00:00

MaudHatter · 18/12/2020 00:00
