I tired I housekeeping and got barely any feedback.

My Dyson cordless v6 is shit. I have to plug it back in every 30 seconds for a few seconds to stop it flashing and work fir another 30. I've replaced the battery, filter, lovingly cleaned it.

Sales are coming and I'd like to replace it but with what? Recommendation please?

Dyson V11 is NOT amazing on dog hair on carpet. Or cobwebs... or a cheerio, tiny leaf of tiny piece of grit. In fact not amazing full stop.

@Catnuzzle

I just got a shark. Love it. It even has headlights!!!!
Yes, I'm not sure about the headlights.

I find them a bit glary if the room is in shadow, but that could just be my eyesight, which is a bit bothered by over bright lights; bright lights can also be a problem when I'm driving in the dark, so as I say, it's probably just me.

Otherwise it's fantastic.

Still1nLove · 18/12/2020 00:26

I have a dyson and I love it. I have wood floors so I run it around as and when and I love it.

I did treat myself to an early Christmas present of a robot hoover. It is the best thing ever. It’s programmed to run around once a day and it washes too, so I set it up to wash occasionally to freshen up between proper mops.

SunscreenCentral · 18/12/2020 00:33

I got a Eufy as well. Absolutely love him. Our floors are spotless now. He gets a run around every day

NotPrude · 18/12/2020 00:39

We just bought a Shark Cordless Hair Wrap thingy. This was after having two Dysons that broke and a Gtech which I felt had poor suction and wasn't able to do corners (and regularly smelt of burnt hair as all my hair would get tangled inside it).

The Shark is amazing! It works so well, it's light and its suction is ideal. Highly recommend.

madcow88 · 18/12/2020 00:45

I have a shark anti hair wrap plug in one and I love it. I replaced my cordless dyson as I hated it.

PineconeOfDoom · 18/12/2020 00:48

Shark cordless is ok. I use for a quick whip around in between proper cleaning. But once a week I haul out the corded Miele which is a shed load better.

GrimDamnFanjo · 18/12/2020 00:54

Tine of here. Never heard of the brand until they were recommended as a Which Best Buy.

GrimDamnFanjo · 18/12/2020 00:55

Tineco Ffs!

DuzzyFuck · 18/12/2020 00:59

Shark 100%. I used to have a cordless Hoover brand that was supposed to be the pet hair version. I'd have been quicker and more effective on my hands and knees with tweezers.

Had my shark a month now and I swear my carpets are a different colour Blush

DuzzyFuck · 18/12/2020 01:01

Ps My Shark is corded but comes apart to make stairs/high areas easier.

AmandaHugenkiss · 18/12/2020 04:45

Another shark vote. I was frankly embarrassed by how much crap it lifted out of my carpet when I first hoovered with it. And mine clicks apart for stairs, hard to reach bits etc. It lifts cat hair like a demon!

Crapbuttrue · 18/12/2020 04:56

I hate my Shark. Selling it to get another Miele this month.

Bookworming · 18/12/2020 04:58

Shark anti hair wrap! Love it!

Belleende · 18/12/2020 06:38

We bought a shark after all the recommendations on here. I fucking hate it. It blocks all the time. EVERY SINGLE USE. Drives me mental.

SabrinaThwaite · 18/12/2020 06:58

Another vote for a Miele - I have the base C1 model and it’s still going strong after more than 10 years (it came with a 10 year guarantee at the time and that ran out quite a while ago).

NotPrude · 18/12/2020 10:00

The Miele is good, but it’s really heavy and hard to use on carpets. If you buy the Miele, you’ll definitely need a lightweight one too for quick hoovering.

SabrinaThwaite · 18/12/2020 10:04

I haven’t found the Miele hard to use on carpets - I just turn the suction down a bit if need be (like if there’s a new bag and the suction is turned up to 11). Plus I find it good on hard floors.

Doctroo · 18/12/2020 13:55

I've always had terrible luck with vacuums, I used to by cheap ones (and I MEAN cheap, £14.99 from Currys cheap). Always useless, with the suction power of a dying man's breath.

Tried more expensive ones, e.g. Hoovers for about 80 quid, after a few months the suction would just die, despite cleaning the filters etc etc.

So earlier this year I bought a Henry - it is fantastic. It came with a free box of attachments, so I now have a bewildering array of gizmos with which to bust the dust.

£149 - good value.

Suction excellent - so far! Knowing my luck, it will probably die.

Yes it uses a bag, but a) they are HUGE and last ages (still only on my second one), and b) you can use it without a bag, but it knackers the filters. Also I've had bagless vacuums before and they suck (ta-daa!), emptying them is horrible and you are forever cleaning and drying the filters.

Henrys rule!

Ineedanamechangeagain · 18/12/2020 13:57

I’ve had my Miele since 2009. They’re excellent and virtually indestructible.

theemmadilemma · 18/12/2020 14:30

Thanks everyone, appreciate the recommendations.

I'm leaning towards a shark, with extra battery and filters.

Shark was shot. Sent it back. Very disappointing after a dyson.
