I'm due to have the vaccine in an hour. Would you?

Just that. Am curious to see what MNers would do if offered.

YANBU - I WOULD have the vaccine.

YABU - I WOULD NOT have the vaccine.

Am 40. NHS worker. Healthy and low risk.

I'd take it up the arse haha

@ZooKeeper19

To protect everyone else. In a heartbeat

The Pfizer vaccine is not proven to prevent transmission

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 17/12/2020 14:54

I wouldn't but only because I'm breastfeeding!

alltheworldsastage4 · 17/12/2020 14:54

I would for sure

PurplePansy05 · 17/12/2020 14:55

I would, I'm pregnant and I would! Shame that I can't!

naturalyoghurtmuncher · 17/12/2020 14:57

No, not at the moment.

ConcernedAuntie · 17/12/2020 14:57

YES, YES, YES. Can't wait.

Three elderly neignbours all having theirs tomorrow and feel so happy for them.

tinytemper66 · 17/12/2020 15:01

Yes I would but sadly am way down the list.

Waspnest · 17/12/2020 15:02

Yes

Parker231 · 17/12/2020 15:03

Definitely - I want my life to return to normal and to be able to travel to see my and DH’s families.

Padton · 17/12/2020 15:05

No, I could have had it this week but I’ve said no for the time being.

Flyonawalk · 17/12/2020 15:05

No. I am in favour of vaccination in general but this is too new.

VickyEadieofThigh · 17/12/2020 15:06

Bring it on!

FangsForTheMemory · 17/12/2020 15:08

I had difficulty not begging my GP yesterday to bump me up the pile. She doesn't know when I'll get it.

Pinktornado · 17/12/2020 15:09

Absolutely. I won’t get to see my parents or grandparents again without them or me being vaccinated.

DappledThings · 17/12/2020 15:10

Didn't think it had been proven either way yet. So, equally, it could prevent transmission.

mommybunny · 17/12/2020 15:15

I will have it the moment I am eligible (53, no health issues, I think that puts me in Tier 9 of first phase, which I read would likely be sometime between Easter and summer? Does anyone know differently?).

m0therofdragons · 17/12/2020 15:16

I had mine last Friday. Arm ached a bit but less than flu jab, I did have a headache the next morning but slept badly due to over-thinking work so probably not actually related. I’m 38 and fairly low risk. I work in a hospital and was in late on Thursday supporting the vaccine clinic so got a vaccine that otherwise would have gone to waste due to defrost/use times. All of our consultants want it which is very reassuring.

yawnsvillex · 17/12/2020 15:16

Nah

AnaisNun · 17/12/2020 15:17

No, I wouldn’t.
I’m not an anti-vaxxer, I don’t believe the conspiracy theories & I’m as unlikely as anyone to have an adverse reaction.
I would just like to see the evidence first that it works & that there are no longer term impacts eg on fertility, pregnancy etc- which haven’t yet been tested.
I think that’s fair enough.

AnaisNun · 17/12/2020 15:17

Sorry that it works over time as the virus mutates

Skyshale · 17/12/2020 15:20

No, I wouldn't have it.

ancientgran · 17/12/2020 15:21

Once they get to me, I think I'm 4 or 5 in the priority list, I'll say yes. I wouldn't think to ask which vaccine, I've never asked what flu vaccine I'm getting and not being scientific I'm happy to let the doctor or pharmacist do their job.
