Just that. Am curious to see what MNers would do if offered.

YANBU - I WOULD have the vaccine.

YABU - I WOULD NOT have the vaccine.

Am 40. NHS worker. Healthy and low risk.

I would only have the Oxford one so would be prepared to wait

QuieterMass · 17/12/2020 14:12

I'm anaphylactic to various foods so no, I wouldn't have it.

Sushirolls · 17/12/2020 14:13

I said no when offered, and have refused consent for my DM also.

StatisticalSense · 17/12/2020 14:13

There are also suggestions that the reason Pfizer chose not to test asymptomatic participants is that the evidence from animal trials and trials of similar vaccines have been shown to not reduce onwards transmission (which is obviously not data which a for profit company would like to be known).

TillyTopper · 17/12/2020 14:13

Yes! Prick me now!!

Cattenberg · 17/12/2020 14:16

Yes I would. I had the annual flu vaccine when I was pregnant. No one could have known if there would be any long-term side-effects from that particular vaccine, but the benefits to me and my baby were thought to outweigh any tiny risks.

I really admire the volunteers who participated in the clinical trials for the Covid vaccines, especially those in the initial safety trials. They took a small, but unknown risk, despite the fact that most potential vaccines turn out not to be effective.

Now that several trial vaccines have been found to be both safe and effective, the rest of us get to reap the rewards of all that work. I would like to thank the trial participants and I hope I can get vaccinated before next summer.

Havana7 · 17/12/2020 14:16

Yes I would

WhySoSensitive · 17/12/2020 14:20

after a horrific reaction to my flu vaccine. I’m hesitating but ultimately I think I still would.

unmarkedbythat · 17/12/2020 14:20

Oh god yes, I'd have it in a heartbeat

Toddlerteaplease · 17/12/2020 14:20

Got mine booked. Can't wait!

FourTeaFallOut · 17/12/2020 14:21

I would like to thank the trial participants

The trial participants really are utter legends.

TimeQuest01 · 17/12/2020 14:22

Can’t wait.
Bit depressed when I saw that my age group ( 50) will probably not have it until the summer.

EmbarrassingMama · 17/12/2020 14:22

I'd be thrilled! Congrats OP - big day!

Meruem · 17/12/2020 14:24

No. I'm only just over 50 (51) no underlying health conditions, not front line worker etc. I don't see myself as being any more at risk than a 49 yr old who won't be first in line. I'm low risk of even catching Covid and miniscule risk of dying from it.

I may have it later, a year or so from now, maybe. But I see no need to rush into it. I don't believe any of the conspiracy theories. I just don't feel any need to have it right away.

CaveMum · 17/12/2020 14:24

Here's a link to the Panorama programme for those that missed it. I was gobsmacked to discover that they had the vaccine ready within days of starting the process, the real time delay is in developing sufficient quantities of it and then the testing regime.

toconclude · 17/12/2020 14:25

Of course. Stupid question.

Aposterhasnoname · 17/12/2020 14:26

Any one offered one that doesn’t want it, I’ll gladly take your place. Can’t bloody wait for my turn.

GabsAlot · 17/12/2020 14:26

i would have if i was in your job-theres onoly been a couple of allergic reaction so far and that can happen with any vaccine

yes theres a chance 10 percent that you wont be immune but other vaccines have a worse percentage and we dont seem to be bothered by that

Aposterhasnoname · 17/12/2020 14:27

Oh no, where have you seen that?
ProudAuntie76 · 17/12/2020 14:27

I’d bite your hand off for it. Senior care home staff here, high risk, can’t even get booked in Sad.

afaik theyre advising pregnant women not to have the covid one yet
butterpuffed · 17/12/2020 14:28

As soon as possible for me.

Interested in why some posters who are saying only the Oxford vaccine..why ?

Cattenberg · 17/12/2020 14:31

Yes, sorry, my post was misleading. I meant that if I was prepared to take the risk of having the annual flu jab when pregnant, why wouldn’t I risk the Covid jab, now that I’m not even pregnant?

Elfieishere · 17/12/2020 14:31

No way.

PLAYJAJADINGDONG · 17/12/2020 14:31

Ah I get you Zilla . Doh!

No need for me as am going to have it but might pass on your tactical suggestion to my colleague
