Whilst we are in the midst of this second wave, is it right that vaccines are being sent to Guernsey and the Isle of Man where they have no restrictions and are living a normal life? Surely they can wait a month until we have things under control

we didn't flock to the beaches in thousands on the bank holiday
Yeah, you do sound smug and this is bollocks anyway. Nobody needs to cram on a beach on the island, assuming it's not bloody freezing anyway, given how many there are. Also, do you really think Kent is choked with Covid due to beaches? Viruses spread even when rules are obeyed!

Bitcherama.

Your name suits you. Your post is incoherent. Who is to provide your vulnerable people medical care (at their own risk)? Also those who facilitate their stay in the uk?

@Bunwell are you seriously lacking any sort of compassion for a human being who is vulnerable and requires treatment that you would rather they did so without protection of a vaccine, because you have some serious issue with the fact the isle of man government purchased some of the UK vaccines? The UK hasn't ran out, they can't administer them all in one go, so whats the point in them being hoarded instead of being used?

My mum would go rapidly blind without eye injections every 6 - 8 weeks. For which she has to travel to the very high risk city of Liverpool. So she and my dad are spending between a third and a quarter of their life under lockdown. Which they would be arrested if they broke. My parents are vulnerable. My dad recently completed cancer treatment. Every time my mum travels for eye injections, they risk both their lives. But if she doesn't, she goes blind.

People in their position would benefit enormously from the vaccine. So the OP can fuck off to the far side of fuck, and then fuck off some more.

Fabulous articulate responses. With a collapsing health service in the uk who will administer this treatment and facilitate your relatives journeys?

I work in the NHS and live near and work with a huge hospital which I can assure you is not collapsing, is busy vaccinating hundreds of local vulnerable patients, and facilitating the treatment of the critically ill and those who need ongoing therapy. Every patient vaccinated is one more who won't die from this virus. Every HCP vaccinated is one who won't pass on the virus to a patient or colleague. The IoM is no different.

Every time my mum goes to Liverpool she is at risk of catching the virus. It would kill her. But she'd die in the Island's hospital and meanwhile every HCP who looks after her would be at risk.

The vaccination priority order is absolutely correct - old people and front line HCPs first. In all parts of the country, including islands and remote areas. Shetland has also remained safe, but I don't see anyone begrudging them the vaccine? Or are they ok because they're in the UK? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really don't follow your argument OP. Islanders use mainland facilities where necessary. Vaccinating vulnerable islanders means they won't need to put extra strain on mainland ICUs. That's the point Confused

Nasty post though.

It's not incoherent. You're just saying any old crap to defend a weird hatred of the Manx. Medical care on the island is mostly provided by Nobles Hospital. Given other Manx people have to go to Liverpool, surely it makes sense to get the IoM vaccinated to avoid them bringing it there too.

You're incoherent. And a wanker.
