Bill and Oti for the win!! Bill showing middle aged men how it’s done! And the perfect end to a weird year....

Yes it's been quite civilized this year and no random visits to "Nan" Grin

DrManhattan · 15/12/2020 09:41

Doesn't it depend on who can commit to the tour lol

OrigamiPenguinArmy · 15/12/2020 09:41

@IdblowJonSnow

On a side note I've preferred Strictky this year! Less shrieking, a bit calmer and fewer couples. Normally it goes on for way too long. Anyone else agree? Xmas Blush
100%. I doubt the beeb will keep it this way, but it’s been a refreshing change and much closer to how it was at the start.
NoMeatIsHumane · 15/12/2020 09:41

Definitely! I've not voted all season but with vote for Bill and Oti. Oti is my favourite professional,she's so lovely.

DrManhattan · 15/12/2020 09:42

The best bit was when that guy went 'effing get in'

Mrsjayy · 15/12/2020 09:42

I can't see there being a tour this year and not everyone can do the tour anyway.

Facelikearustytractor · 15/12/2020 09:46

Loved Bill in the beginning, but the last two weeks haven't been so good. Want to see his CC and Paso in the final and I will probably vote for him.

Leaning towards Maisie and Gorks to win for me (him and Alexandra were robbed).

Think HRVY will win though - he has the teen and blue rinse vote, but although he is good and seems lovely I have found him the least entertaining.

LastChristmas20 · 15/12/2020 09:47

Saturdays show is totally down to the public.

So it could be anyone really.

I think they would all be worthy winners really.

Even Jamie - who I didn't know anything about before this and had a bit of a dislike to purely based on that he's from MiC.

But he seems a genuinely nice, very hardworking man. Puts his all into each week.

They all do. And just because Bill isn't young and as limber, doesn't mean he hasn't worked as hard.

So I'll be happy for whoever the winner is. It's not like a real dance competition, I sort of like when the "most improved" or "tried the hardest" wins as opposed to the "best dancer"

Everyone's a winner really if you get a good few dances. Must be so rewarding.

And look at the amazing journey Ranvir has had. It's really inspired me to be more confident and push myself more.

Was that the guy from The Wanted? I loved it when he said "I'm blowing out of my arse!" after his energetic couples choice.
BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/12/2020 09:48

I would like Bill to win. I think he's a pretty good dancer, especially for his age. He has fabulous rhythm and he manages well with difficult choreography. His posture leaves a bit to be desired in ballroom admittedly, but his simple joy in dancing makes me happy when I watch him. That street dance was fantastic, I'm glad we get to see it again.

HRVY has grown on me, not as a person really as he comes across as a bit vacuous, a sort of nice-but-dim personality, but some of his dances have been lovely especially his American Smooth.

I'm not keen on Maisie's dancing, I'm not sure why because she's clearly very talented, I find her a bit too heavy-footed or something. She managed a lovely, delicate VW though so she's clearly trying to correct that. I don't think she has enough voting public behind her to win.

Jamie is clearly the weakest of the four and I probably would have preferred Ranvir in the final but it was a very close call. He definitely doesn't have enough voting followers to win as he's been in the dance-off a lot. He's having a great time though and isn't quite as annoying as I expected him to be, or he is as annoying but hides it from the camera well.

myhobbyisouting · 15/12/2020 09:48

Hmm, I think Oti is the best professional absolutely.

Really like Bill but he's not doing as well as he was. I think it'll be HRVY but he's annoying me with the "do it for Janette" so he needs to pack that in now.

Looking forward to it. Strictly final and the kids choice of takeaway. Roll on Saturday

@OrigamiPenguinArmy

I think in terms of career boost Jamie is going to be the big winner this year, even though his chances of actually winning are slim to none. I never watch scripted reality stuff and tend to lump everyone who’s in them together as desperate z listers, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Jamie has come across as such a funny and likeable person and I’d genuinely like to see him get more TV work. His partnership with Karen has been great, I’d love to see them do something together in the future, maybe some kind of travel documentary.
Couldn't agree more.

I feel like you can see the change in Karen for being with him. They're a great pair.

My highlight of the show this year for me was them in the matador costumes wiggling their bums up with Claudia. Nice to see the pros having such a great time.

DrManhattan · 15/12/2020 09:50

@Facelikearustytractor
I missed that! He was really funny but not sure if he was intending to be ! Much better than the cringe ass kissing that goes on Grin

ramblingsonthego · 15/12/2020 09:50

Out of who is left i want Bill or Jamie to win. It was Ranvir but she was robbed last week.

HRVY and Maisie started off really well and just stayed roughly the same. I like them to go on a journey and actually learn to dance. Maisie has already won the Xmas special so she had a much bigger advantage than someone like Bill. I also found HRVY and Maisie too stage school for my taste. Maisie has tried to be a bit more humble the past couple of weeks but she struggles with it, you can see that.

tinytemper66 · 15/12/2020 09:50

I would like Jeanette to win with Hrvy as she is such a good pro.

SleepingStandingUp · 15/12/2020 09:57

I just don't want HRVY to win because I hate the way the racist grannies always prevail with their preference for the anodyne "housewives choice" candidate.
First Place:
Alisha Dixon
Louis Smith
Ore OdubaKevin partner by Oti

Runner Up
Denise Lewis
Colin Jackson
Ricky Whittle
Simon Webbe
Alexandra Burke
Karim Zeroual

I don't understand why you think racist voters are skewing the result

RaspberryCoulis · 15/12/2020 09:57

@Mrsjayy

Harvey went to a performing arts school he is just as stage school as Maisie imo.
Did he? I'd never heard of him before Strictly.

It must be hard for the Strictly producers to get the right mix of people from different backgrounds for the show. Nearly everyone who has been in a soap, or on the stage, or is a singer will have had dance training.

My favourite contestants of the past though have been those with no dance training.

SomethingAboutNothing · 15/12/2020 09:58

Not a fan of Bill really, and as someone else said he seems to have plateaued in the last couple of weeks.

I have really warmed to Jamie, he seems far nicer than I assumed he would be and has been very entertaining to watch - and I really like Karen too!

Harvey is a good dancer and I am sure he will win, but I think Maisie deserves to win.

Bibidy · 15/12/2020 09:59

Yeah I'd like to see them win too. I think it's nice to see someone on the show who is genuinely quite a big name and is doing it purely for the enjoyment rather than to further their career.

I do think it's a little unfair though as Bill seems to get really high praise from the judges, even Craig and Shirley, when HRVY gets criticised a lot despite being objectively a far better dancer. His and Bill's Charlestones were miles apart in quality this week, it was obvious even to the untrained eye.

Disfordarkchocolate · 15/12/2020 10:00

I'd love Gorka or Jeanette to win, 2 of my favourite pro dancers. Not bothered about the celebrities to be honest.

Mrsjayy · 15/12/2020 10:00

Yes because I didn't know who he was either and his school was centered round performing.

Piffle11 · 15/12/2020 10:00

I think Harvey or Bill will win. The problem for Maisie is that she was very good to start with, and clearly has confidence. This actually seems to work against a lot of people in Strictly, so I can’t really see her winning. I have always liked Jamie, and he was so funny after the first dance when he was on It Takes Two, talking about how he didn’t realise exactly how tight his trousers looked! I don’t think he has a chance of winning, though. In fact, I’m quite surprised he made it to the final. But I’m glad he’s there – he’s really trying and clearly loving it.

Samcro · 15/12/2020 10:02

i want him to win, he might not be the best dancer, but he is not a ringer.

Bibidy · 15/12/2020 10:02

I think Ranvir was the right choice to go this week and am surprised others don't!

I liked her and she was wonderful at waltzes and the other ballroom dances but she was really poor at everything else - the latin, quickstep, the jive. She just wasn't able to get out of her comfort zone for those faster dances and if she had got to the final she either would have had to do 3 very similar slow dances, or one great dance and two awful ones.

Jamie at least has tackled a variety of dances and achieved a reasonable level in all of them.

blametheparents · 15/12/2020 10:05

@Mrsjayy

Harvey went to a performing arts school he is just as stage school as Maisie imo.
He did not go to full time stage school. He went to a school near where I live which is very much not 'Stage School' and took exams there. He may well have attended dance/acting classes as an extra-curricular activity (loads of people do!), but he was not at stage school from age 7!
