To want to post a big shout out to the Royal Mail

And all the hard work they are doing this december?

Was waiting for a couple of parcels, one got delivered yesterday (didnt know they delivered on a sunday!) And the other has just arrived at 7.30pm

What long hours they must be doing to ensure all parcels get delivered over the busy festive season, feel like this should be appreciated more!

So many posts about lost mail, long delays etc, i just wanted to post about how grateful i am that they are doing what they are doing :)

Website says they are delivering until 9pm and because of the system you may get more than one drop off in one day

hansgrueber · 14/12/2020 20:45

I know some areas of the country have had different experiences but all this year our post service has operated as normal and also our bin collections. That's a shout out for Breckland in Norfolk.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 14/12/2020 20:46

Big shout from me in the NE.

Ye are all bloody marvellous Flowers

LoudBatPerson · 14/12/2020 20:49

We were most shocked when a letter arrived yesterday! They don't normally deliver on Sundays, but I guess the workload must be very heavy right now.

I love our postie, he always has a smile and a cheery hello come rain or shine.

Fuckertyfuckmcfuck · 14/12/2020 20:50

Totally agree with you. Received a damaged Christmas card in a plastic pouch with an apology, telling me what to do if I thought something was missing from it and had texts telling me exactly where a parcel was
Excellent service

SparklingLime · 14/12/2020 20:51

They’re definitely working under very difficult conditions. I’m another one who is very appreciative.

LaurieFairyCake · 14/12/2020 20:52

They're incredible

I think they've got about 15 times as much mail during the pandemic 😳

The post boxes round here are completely filled - I was standing next to a full one today outside the post office (big queue) and it had been emptied less than an hour earlier

Redrunbluerun · 14/12/2020 20:53

I use them for business and my post man is lovely and working very hard! Well done Royal Mail

Brighterthansunflowers · 14/12/2020 20:58

My posties are lovely, I much prefer them to the likes of Hermes.

Strangedayindeed · 14/12/2020 21:03

I’m waiting on loads of things, have been for at least a month now. Ordered early as thought there’d be delays and still not here before I needed things. We are having post maybe once a week. So no not really impressed. All other packages seem to be arriving ok!

LEELULUMPKIN · 14/12/2020 21:06

Yes we had 2 deliveries yesterday, Sunday.

Post and parcels.

We are in NW England and up until yesterday not very impressed but they redeemed themselves.

LEELULUMPKIN · 14/12/2020 21:07

@Brighterthansunflowers They are called "Herpes" in this house.

I feel your pain.

jakeyboy1 · 14/12/2020 21:13

I posted 3 parcels last Monday that haven't arrived yet not sure if this is normal at present or if they are lost 😬

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 14/12/2020 21:22

The posties around my way are certainly pulling the hours/doing their bit but I think that royal mail as an organisation is struggling a lot.

Spitoutthebauble · 14/12/2020 21:25

I also love our lovely lovely posties in NI, and the ladies in the actual post office who kindly have the same ‘yes, so many returns’ etc conversation about a million times a day I’m sure!

Happytentoes · 14/12/2020 21:27

I have lovely posties.
The parcel lady had driven away from my house this morning when she saw me coming down the street, so she came back to save me a pick up.
Always a smile & a wave.

To be fair I have lovely DPD drivers too.😁

ScottishStottie · 14/12/2020 21:28

@sheldonesquelsUnwell im NE too, must be a very well run area for Royal Mail!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 14/12/2020 21:32

I can’t praise them highly enough. And they are lovely too.

I can’t imagine how much their workload has increased this year and STILL they smile.

No complaints from my neuk. None at all. Smile

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 14/12/2020 21:32

And Hermes too. Fabulous Smile

daisychain01 · 14/12/2020 21:34

We love our postie, he's our 4th Emergency Service!

And both our local post offices are second to none in giving really good clear information for the different delivery services they provide.

And they do cash back at the counter.

Plus lovely Christmas stamps.

Plus, plus, plus!

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 14/12/2020 21:36

We have "the Lady from Herpes" Blush

22Giraffes · 14/12/2020 21:40

Love my postman, he works so hard and always friendly and helpful. They are under so much stress at the moment but doing a grand job where I am in London!

BlankTimes · 14/12/2020 21:46

Big Thumbs Up for our Yorkshire Posties. They really are going the extra mile to deliver all the parcels this year.

ThomasHardyPerennial · 14/12/2020 21:50

The local postmen (we have 2) we have have been absolutely incredible this year. Always have a smile and a hello ready, and the service has been as good as always. I think we had 1 week during the first lockdown when we didn't get any post, but other than that it has been great.

I know other areas have suffered, but I really appreciate the service we have had.
