I’ve bought my mum a Dyson handheld & I’m so excited to give it to her! She struggles with the stairs now, so it’ll be great.

Have you got something you’re looking forward to gifting?

Harry Otter is fab

My DH is bookworm and I'm getting him a couple of books in his favourite subject

Pookaroo · 13/12/2020 22:55

My DS 4 is autistic and utterly obsessed with trains, this year Santa is bringing him the Thomas Super Station. I'm so excited to give it to him he's been asking Santa for it since February 😂😂

Talisin · 13/12/2020 23:02

I want a Harry Otter! So cute.

I’m another one who’s bought mum a vacuum - a Eufy in this case. Hopefully she’ll like it as a vacuum but if not then I reckon I can stick a pair of googly eyes on it and voila! RoboPet!

KatyaZamolodchikova · 13/12/2020 23:04

I’ve got DH a candle in the style of a catholic prayer candle, only with Marcelo Bielsa on it rather than an actual saint. We are both very lapsed Catholic’s and I keep giggling to myself every time I think about it. And lord only knows Leeds United need some divine intervention at the moment!!

RIBlue · 13/12/2020 23:08

Got my Mum some proper chef’s knives. She loves to cook and always gently bemoans her rag tag assortment of knives but would never buy herself new ones because ‘they’re fine’. Probably wouldn’t be very exciting to most but I think she’ll really like them, after she’s finished saying ‘I told you not to get me anything, it’s far too much, what were you thinking’ etc etc Xmas Grin

DramaAlpaca · 13/12/2020 23:13

I adore Harry Otter, lucky SDTG's DH Grin

One of DS25's presents is a coffee machine. He's going to love it Smile

Holothane · 13/12/2020 23:13

In joke between dh and fil, they both joke about chicken nuggets fil loves them so I’ve got both of them at t shirt covered with nuggets I so wish I could see fils sauce when he sees it mil loves her oodie, friend will like hers too.

Gertie75 · 13/12/2020 23:19

I've bought dh a thick, furry, heated throw, I've got one that I use on the sofa every night and am lovely and toasty while he complains he's cold.

grool · 13/12/2020 23:38

I LOVE Harry Otter 😁

I'm excited for DD(7) to open the expensive Harry Potter castle set that I promised myself I wouldn't buy her because I swore I was done.

And DD(2) has a new wooden kitchen with lots of accesories that I know she will love!

StCharlotte · 13/12/2020 23:49

I found out my DH had never had a stocking so I'm looking forward to him discovering it. I will put it under my side of the bed and I'm relying on waking for a middle of the night wee as usual and I will put it by his feet then.

Oooohbehave · 14/12/2020 10:52

All of them. I love giving gifts and choosing things I think people will love. Probably most excited about the kids electric scooters.

EurosprogBauble · 14/12/2020 11:41

Just remember it's better to gift than receipt.

A print of an original painting. Its a recent and lovely oil painting, and I ordered the print specially as I know the artist (so ticking the buy local theme), I know the recipient will just LOVE it.

hansgrueber · 14/12/2020 11:56

@flaviaritt

I am looking forward to giving my DH his present (clothing).
My thought exactly, I'm gifting nothing, I'm giving my grandchildren some things I'm told they want. If I can find a book on the crucifixion of the English language I may give that too.
GrinchnotHinch · 14/12/2020 12:05

I love this thread, I find so much more joy in giving than receiving, can’t wait for my 4 yr old DS to open the only thing he put on his Xmas list! (A Minecraft teddy, bless him)

I got him other things I’ll know he’d like as well but that’s what he specifically asked for and it’s the first thing he’s ever asked for so it’s going to be exciting

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 14/12/2020 12:10

The children's Henry vacuum cleaner we have got ds, he is obsessed with ours and loves playing with it, so we got him his own, it actually sucks, so we can put him to work 😂

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/12/2020 12:35

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese - I found a miniature Henry Hoover - a desk hoover - to go in dh's stocking. I'm looking forward to his reaction to that too.

Thank you for all the Harry Otter love - I got the pattern on Ravelry - it's one you pay for, and I'll post the link if anyone is interested.

Simplyunacceptable · 14/12/2020 12:51

Looking forward to giving my DH his aftershave, I know he won’t be expecting it because he’s only asked for chuffing socks (does this every year!). Also looking forward to giving my DC their den kit and doing it with them in the garden!

BurtonHouse · 14/12/2020 13:09

Earlier in the year I was really looking forward to giving my family a party ......
😭

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 14/12/2020 13:47

Everything! I love giving presents. The ILs will be thrilled with their photo calendar of their first grandchild, and I'm really looking forward to giving my dad and stepmum their books and jigsaw and baby pics. And I've got loads of bits for DP that I know he'll be happy about, like some enamelware and a vintage meat mincer. And the baby will enjoy having some more picture books to look at Smile Ooh and the personalised rose gold necklace for my sis should go down well too. Can't wait!

Bluntness100 · 14/12/2020 13:50

That otter is fantastic, you’re really talented!

My daughters, she’s 23 and although she knows eighty percent of it, I still always get excited, more than she does! 😂

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/12/2020 14:14

Thank you, @Bluntness100.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 14/12/2020 14:15

I think the ones I am most excited to give are :

Antique fishing rod for my brother (which sounds a bit shit unless you're him!)

Chiminea for my mum

Beautiful wooden box for my dad to keep his ludicrous amount of art supplies in - and more art supplies 😅

Tablet (from santa) and phone (from us) for my child

Not particularly excited about any of my DPs presents. I think that makes me a bad partner

Iamclearlyamug · 14/12/2020 14:26

I’m most excited to watch DD9 open the Harry Potter world tickets I’ve bought, alongside a hotel reservation so we can make a night of it too ☺️☺️

Bluntness100 · 14/12/2020 14:47

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius

Thank you, *@Bluntness100*.
Honestly you could start a little shop and sell them on Etsy. They would be very popular.
