To ask if I can lose 6/7 kg in less than two weeks?

I’m getting married on the 19th but have been eating waaaaay too much crap lately due to lockdown and awkward shift work. I’m 63kg and just under 5ft 7 which I know probably doesn’t sound like a lot but I hold it all on my stomach, hips, bum and thighs so it’s really unflattering! None of my jeans fit comfortable (size 10) and my wedding dress is just a bit too tight for comfort.

I’ve left it so last minute as we had already rescheduled and tbh I didn’t think it would go ahead!! Now I’m mad panicking because I’m working the next 5 days (long days) and 3 days long days) next week which gives me zero time to exercise. My excuse of “I’ll go tomorrow” has finally come back to bite me!! Please, does anyone have any miracle diets or workout routines I could do?!

If you eat low carb for the next 2 weeks, you’ll likely lose a lot of water weight, and that’ll help with the dress.
You won’t lose 7kg of fat in 2 weeks.

Tearsfortiers · 06/12/2020 19:23

Yes I agree with @Thingsthatgo. You can definitely lose that much weight low carving but it will be mostly water. How tight is your dress?

Tearsfortiers · 06/12/2020 19:23

*carbing

Namedchangedfordiet · 06/12/2020 19:25

Dress goes on but it just feels uncomfortable if that makes sense. I’m wondering if I just try a juice cleanse (?) however worried I might faint working long days Grin

Healthy eating, low carb, and a pair of spanx?

murbblurb · 06/12/2020 19:30

'cleansing' is done by your liver and kidneys. If they don't work you've got bigger problems than a tight dress.

'cleanse' diets are horseshit sold by con artists to the ill informed. You need to eat fewer calories which can be done by careful choice of food rather than giving money to Paltrow and her mates.

good luck and have a lovely wedding day - but remember it is only one day!

whitewineandmagnums · 06/12/2020 19:33

Michael Mosley fast 800 is your friend

sofiaaaaaa · 06/12/2020 19:36

Miracle diets or workout routines don’t exist

You have to commit to just eating healthily, so no crash diets. You also have to commit to exercise, in your situation I would hire a personal trainer. The exercise will be what swings it imo

Splann · 06/12/2020 19:38

The fast 800 will get you close, depending on how much you have lose. Good luck!

BendingSpoons · 06/12/2020 19:43

I wouldn't have thought you needed to lose 6/7kg if the dress is just uncomfortable. What is your job? Can you incorporate exercise e.g. standing up more?

HappygoLucie · 06/12/2020 19:43

Be quite firm with cutting down on high calorie food 'treats'. Eat good portions of fruit and veg, there's no need to go hungry if you're eating healthy balanced meals. You will only lose weight if you're eating less and moving more. Making small adjustments like standing at a desk or using stairs instead of lift etc burn more calories. A brisk 10 minute walk is better than nothing if you're short on time.

InTheLongGrass · 06/12/2020 19:49

You dont really have much fat to loose, so I suspect you wont manage the full 6kg.
But I'm sure drinking more water, and clean eating, possibly combined with low carb, will smooth your stomach.
A kg or 2 will hake a big difference in making a dress fit better.
Have a fabulous day!

DillyDilly · 06/12/2020 19:49

Cut out all bread, pasta, rice, grains, potatoes, starch veg, and fruit with thre exception of a very small amount of berries every day or so.

Eat plenty of high fat foods and protein, drink 2 litres of water, add a teaspoon of salt to your food daily.

Basically, very low carb - google keto diet and do a version of it. It will work.

DillyDilly · 06/12/2020 19:51

As in it will work and you will lose weight but probably not 7 kg, that would be nearly impossible within your time-frame.

DillyDilly · 06/12/2020 19:52

Ps cut out all sugar too.

Yesmate · 06/12/2020 19:53

Exante is meal replacement, next day delivery 800 cals. Not ideal bit for two weeks will be ok and doable

WhoseThatGirl · 06/12/2020 19:55

Do a VLCD. You’ll lose plenty of your tummy.

Lydia777 · 06/12/2020 19:56

With 2 weeks to go, forget anyone telling you to make small changes such as a ten minute exercise. Do a juice cleanse (Jason Vale) or a strict low Carb and fat diet (dukan). You need to give your body a shock, it works. Have done it.

FirewomanSam · 06/12/2020 19:56

Honestly, get the dress taken out. Being a 2020 bride is stressful enough (been there done that!) without starving yourself in the final two weeks before your wedding.

firesong · 06/12/2020 20:04

You probably could lose 10lbs, but I think it'll need a bit of prep. Look for low calorie foods and maybe just have a boring routine, like:

Morning: coffee and small bowl porridge
Lunch: soup, banana
Dinner: tinned new potatoes (tinned because easy portion control), fish and veg

Go to bed early so you're not tempted
Gentle exercise like yoga (boho beautiful on youtube is good, and free)
Weigh yourself each morning

Could probably work, you'll have to be pretty disciplined!

lioncitygirl · 06/12/2020 20:07

cut the sugar, the white carbs - and the booze. 9pm bed, lots of water, lots of veg. Stay away from snacking on dried fruits. Lots of steamed /baked fish, especially wild salmon.

CakeRequired · 06/12/2020 20:09

Try your dress on first thing in the morning first of all. That's when you're not bloated at all.

I don't think you need to lose kg worth of weight, probably just a few pounds. Strict diet, no more crap at all, and get your ass to that gym pronto. Grin

ilovetomatoes · 06/12/2020 20:09

Another vote for the fast 800. Will def get you close I would have thought.

Suckmyfatone · 06/12/2020 20:10

Drop carbs and sugar. Easy.

cameocat · 06/12/2020 20:13

I also say Micheal Mosley 800!
