Or is it PA?

I mean every cocking weekend there’s a Grand Prix on in our house. And he hates Lewis Hamilton...

Elsielouise13 · 06/12/2020 18:49

We have both scrabble and Netflix. I think he’s addicted. LTB?

Fellow F1 husband sufferer here..... plus football, golf, rugby. Anything. He can literally spend 12 hours on both Saturday and Sunday watching sport.

popshops · 06/12/2020 18:58

Perfect, it can be a dartboard in winter and a garden target for sponges in summer.

PercyPiginaWig · 06/12/2020 18:59

It's not every weekend, it's less than half of the weekends per year. So if it's every cocking weekend in your house he must be watching repeats.
Lewis Hamilton wasn't even racing today as he has Covid-19.
Dont know why you'd buy him a cardboard cut out of a driver he dislikes. Maybe a cut out of a car?

ImNotMeImSomeoneElse · 06/12/2020 18:59

Don't suffer F1. Watch it instead. It's great!

Any Lewis hater is probably gutted he wasn't driving today, with the mistakes that Merc made and the bad luck that George had - they'd have loved that happening to Lewis!

Also cricket but I like the radio commentary of that.

I shall make Lewis ‘Man of Honour’

I can't stand F1, but anyone can see that Hamilton is a fantastic driver. Why doesn't DH like him? Confused
But yes- he has covid so wouldn't be racing today poor man.

niki26 · 06/12/2020 19:04

Ha! Earlier on I said 'why is the bloody F1 still on in December???!!!!' He said 'COVID'.

Although Im particularly bitter about racing this weekend as he went away racing on Thursday and got back last night - two whole nights in a hotel by himself....whilst I'm home with a five year old and 3 month old....and then today he didn't do much all day and then says he's 'going upstairs to watch the F1....' just as I was trying to do the Christmas tree with the lively five year old. I said fine and passed him the baby to take up with him.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2020 19:05

Those cardboard cut outs are really expensive. Is there anyone else?

There's only one more race next week then that's it until March...

Justreadingtheforum3 · 06/12/2020 19:08

Why does he not like Lewis? He is a fantastic British driver and seems like a nice guy.

I haven’t had two nights in a hotel away from family in 12 years...

Other things also available in cardboard

@Elsielouise13 I know!

My husband owns a motorsport company (not F1!!!!) so he is away quite a few weekends of the year for work. Because COVID stopped the racing happening his race season was also extended, which meant that our 'well timed' second pregnancy suddenly wasn't so well timed! Instead of one race after the birth there was 3! And the weekends he wasn't away I feel like the F1 was on so he was watching that!

I'm being flippant of course - the pregnancy wasn't 'timed' at all, it was just seemingly quite convenient when it happened!

This past weekend wasn't work for him - he was actually driving so it was a little more frustrating for me at home on my own. It's done now though! Until next season!

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2020 19:16

Excellent!

So you have a few months of it not being 'every cocking weekend' which it wasn't anyway. Smile
