Hayfever

PronkWine · 30/11/2020 08:14

It's November, I should NOT be suffering from hideous hayfever.

It's the worst it's been all year, I'm now eyeing all trees with suspicion and an axe. Can I blame global warming?

My sister and I were talking about this last night. We are all suffering really badly! What is going on?

ReallySpicyCurry · 30/11/2020 08:20

I've woken up with a dose of it too

Wankerchief · 30/11/2020 08:23

Yes! I'm back on my pills and my dp thinks I'm mad

Glitterblue · 30/11/2020 08:24

Mine is always worse this time of year than the summer. My GP said it's mould spores from the damp leaves.

Ohgoodness34 · 30/11/2020 08:27

Mine has been full on lately with no obvious cause.

I’ve noticed that the Zoe covid app checklist includes“Increase in your usual allergy symptoms” and “sneezing more than usual”

I’ve noticed that the Zoe covid app checklist includes“Increase in your usual allergy symptoms” and “sneezing more than usual”

What does that mean?

Likely to be mould allergy. It's worse around this time if the year.

PurpleDaisies · 30/11/2020 08:37

I took antihistamines yesterday.

bobbiester · 30/11/2020 08:39

And I suppose any rash at this time of year could be sunburn too.

You need to get Occam's razor out.

pinkbalconyrailing · 30/11/2020 08:44

some moulds/funghi can cause allergic reactions as well.
it's their prime time right now.

hayfever is annoying, I hope you feel better soon!

Tomnooktoldmeto · 30/11/2020 09:27

With the milder winters the autumn mould spores are lingering much longer and apparently the first tree spores started in December last year

Worchester university have an excellent pollen tracking site which breaks down the areas of the uk and shows what is active throughout the year in your area

Peridot1 · 30/11/2020 09:31

Glad it’s not just me!

We’ve just moved house so packing and sorting and unpacking hasn’t helped with all the dust. My eyes are really sore and I’ve had to use my Ventolin inhaler most days. And I’ve stocked up on antihistamines again.

popshops · 30/11/2020 09:40

All three of us have had full on hay fever too

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 30/11/2020 09:42

I've been sneezing and had itchy eyes the last week or so, I hadn't associated it with hayfever at all until I saw this. But that's exactly what it feels like! Shock

Lollysticks12 · 30/11/2020 09:45

So glad I've found this thread, my nose is constantly itching, off to get nasal spray, thought it can't possibly be hayfever!

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 30/11/2020 09:46

I'm the same! Really bloody annoying.

Puddlelane123 · 30/11/2020 09:55

I’m suffering terribly too - almost 5 weeks of sneezing, itchy eyes and annoying cough (have had 2 x negative covid tests). The odd thing is I have never suffered before, not even during the summer. And oddly it seems worse in the mornings? I’m getting so embarrassed with cough and feel like tyhoid Mary! I want a badge that says it is isnt covid!

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 30/11/2020 10:03

Isn't just a cold?

Tomnooktoldmeto · 30/11/2020 10:09

Just to reassure all of you, I’ve just checked on Worcester pollen and fungal spores are currently high, no less than 4 are currently causing problems

popshops · 30/11/2020 10:17

@EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide

Isn't just a cold?
No, it's nothing like a cold.
bestbeforedateexpired · 30/11/2020 10:32

The Worcester site is very helpful. Thank you!

Lemuriformes · 30/11/2020 10:36

Oh so glad it's not just me! I am having a vile time of it at the moment.

MerryChristmas9792 · 30/11/2020 10:37

Dd suffers from hayfever and has been similar. I put it down to the central heating which can affect her allergies but now I’m not so sure!

SoupDragon · 30/11/2020 10:38

I agree with those who have said it's likely to be mould spores.

PurpleDaisies · 30/11/2020 10:54

@EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide

Isn't just a cold?
You have obviously never had hay fever.
