It doesn't have to be specific to these materials, but more so the colour of the jewellery.
Incredibly bored and browsing clothes, bags and jewellery of which I can never afford, and I can't decide what I prefer for myself!

I wear silver, sometimes a few pieces with mixed which I quite like.

TheFormidableMrsC · 13/07/2022 11:09

Silver for me but sometimes I layer in a small gold necklace or bracelet for a change

girlfriend44 · 13/07/2022 12:12

white gold is nice.

xogossipgirlxo · 13/07/2022 12:30

Yellow gold for me. Suits better my skin tone.

sueelleker · 13/07/2022 19:43

Gold. It goes better with my skin-tone. I didn't realise until I read the "Colour Me Beautiful" book years ago. Some skin and hair tones suit cool colours, some suit warm

GoldenSpiral · 13/07/2022 19:51

Gold. It suits my olive skin tone better, but my enagagement ring is platinium and I still love it.

Gonnabegrandma · 13/07/2022 21:25

Silver as I have cool toned skin

Erictheavocado · 13/07/2022 21:48

Definitely white metal for me, whether that is silver or white gold. I have only ever owned one item of yellow gold jewellery, a pair of good quality, high carat earrings given to me for my 18th birthday. Within 30 minutes of putting them on, my ears looked as though I'd gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson. I've always preferred the look of silver against my skin anyway - yellow gold looks very cheap and brassy with my skin tone. My wedding ring is white gold as is all my 'significant' jewellery - had to have my wedding ring specially made and had to go to Hatton Garden when (then) boyfriend wanted to buy me a ring, as it was really difficult to get white gold on the high street at that time (45+ years ago}.

LadyPoison · 13/07/2022 21:53

Yellow gold suits my skin tone better than silver but I wear both.

TRAPPPED · 13/07/2022 21:55

I wear white gold, so silver in colour - it suits me better. I think maybe because I'm pale, the orange tone to gold jewellery makes me look paler? I'm not sure.

Workyticket · 13/07/2022 21:58

I shamelessly wear both!

My engagement ring from dh is platinum but a ring I inherited after we got engaged is yellow gold and means the world to me

My wedding ring is a band of white gold with yellow gold either side so I mix and match them (wear the other on the other hand depending on my mood)

I wear a white gold bracelet and a silver bracelet all the time too

FreezyFreezy · 13/07/2022 21:58

I prefer the silver colour but I am allergic to it so wear white gold instead!

Just looked it up, apparently cool tones suit white gold and silver better, warm tones suit gold!
Now this begs the question...
What on earth am I?!

The easiest way to tell is to get a piece of white cloth and a piece of cream/ivory and wrap it around your neck in turn.

If you look better with the white against your skin then you are cool toned. If it's the cream/ivory then you are warm toned.

I am very warm toned. I don't own any blue clothes as blue makes me look ill.

HerRoyalHappiness · 13/07/2022 22:26

I wear both.
I'm currently wearing gold earrings and necklace and silver bracelet and ring.

CounsellorTroi · 13/07/2022 22:29

I like gold, especially antique gold, although gold generally seems to have fallen out of fashion recently.

TheNextCaroleMiddleton · 13/07/2022 22:35

Gold all the way. I tan relative easily and suits my skin tone, but silver tones are everywhere so I like that it’s a bit different or old fashioned. I’ve inherited a lot of gold too so that helps!

Siameasy · 13/07/2022 23:03

Gold suits my skin tone as well

LesOliviers · 13/07/2022 23:09

I can't choose and love both silver and yellow gold. I'm lucky that both suit my skin tone. I often mix them together as well and don't always stick to all gold/silver jewelry.

Singinginthesnow · 13/07/2022 23:23

Gold looks better on me. Silver makes me look quite pale!

Imightbe · 13/07/2022 23:25

Silver for me . Wedding ring platinum.

heyitsthistle · 13/07/2022 23:26

Yellow gold, please!

I am pasty, don't tan and am cool-toned. Gold warms me up.

Princessoftheuniverse · 14/07/2022 00:40

I like and wear both. I love rose gold in particular. I’ve recently got myself a gold and silver watch which I think ties the two colours together so I sometimes wear both at the same time.

Fillet · 14/07/2022 02:47

I like both together - cool toned pale gold and silver. I wear contemporary, simple designs.

I love to see stone-set jewellery, just for the workmanship (I'm a silversmith) but I rarely wear it myself.

Roselilly36 · 14/07/2022 04:15

I like both, if I was buying bracelet, I would choose gold, as silver tarnishes. If I was buying earrings, I would only buy gold, as silver makes my ears itch. I have lots of silver pendants that I wear more than my gold ones. I think silver and gold look lovely together.

onlythreenow · 14/07/2022 05:20

I like gold but prefer silver. It's just brighter and I think looks nicer.
