To ask if you prefer silver or gold jewellery?

It doesn't have to be specific to these materials, but more so the colour of the jewellery.
Incredibly bored and browsing clothes, bags and jewellery of which I can never afford, and I can't decide what I prefer for myself!

I would have said silver a few years ago but definitely gold now. I think it's more classic. I think silver/white gold are going slightly 'out'... it seems people on this thread disagree

I work in a jewellers, we sell by far more white metals than we do yellow gold.

Personally I wear silver or platinum (or white gold) but have a few pieces which mix both colours together.

Gold on warm skin tones. Silver on cool. Look at your wrist. If the veins are green you prob suit gold. Blue it’s silver.
Gold is everywhere at the moment though.

I prefer silver. I've always looked washed up when using anything yellow gold. BUT my wedding band is rose gold which also suits me and because i wanted something diferent from the rest of my jewelry.

I like rose gold. The tones are warmer for me than yellow gold and feel "younger" if that's possible.

I prefer silver for all jewellery except my wedding and engagement rings which are gold. I like the contrast and it makes those rings feel a bit more special. Most of my other jewellery is Tiffany so it isn't cost factor that makes me prefer silver. They are really expensive!

I can also wear both and honestly couldn't say which suits me best. I have warm colouring so it should be gold in theory.

Gold for me, I'm very pale (and a redhead) and silver just looks washed out on my skin. Yellow or rose gold suits me much better. I also prefer less maintenance of yellow gold!

Silver. Gold sadly doesn't look that nice against my skin, I'm too pale.

White gold, I've got a couple of yellow gold rings but my engagement ring is white gold & I wear a Russian wedding ring that is 3 colours of gold. To me yellow gold looks wrong with my cool skin tone.

Silver suits my skin tone better.

Always gold. I agree with the pp that said silver is cold and lifeless looking - never seen a silver piece that wouldn't look better in gold! But that's my bias showing of course.

I like both, and sometimes together. I like good for more fashion stuff and silver for more classic style if that makes sense.

But I bought some gold studs and they really suit my skin tone.

Personally I prefer rose gold. Unfortunately gold of any sort does not prefer me. I am am violently allergic.

So I wear silver and last after the BEAUTIFUL rose gold jewellery I see everyone else wearing

I feel that the tide is turning.
In recent years everyone wanted silver coloured jewellery as it seemed more modern , yellow gold was seen as old fashioned.
We've had years of silver/rhodium/platinum/white gold so younger folk have decided that yellow gold is now 'retro.'
