I figured it can't hurt to share here (rather than on local Facebook groups!).

Mine are:
Sainsburys: Mini breaded cambemberts (bloody hell they're good!).
Aldi: Torro Loco red wine, and "extra special" cauliflower cheese
M&S: Dulce de leche truffles

All very healthy as you can see....

Lidl

  • Authentic Greek yoghurt
  • Nappies and wipes
  • Coconut Greek style yoghurt
  • Walnut and fig bread from the bakery (not seen it in ages!)
  • Deluxe flapjacks from the bakery

Aldi

  • Chicken thigh burgers
  • Marzipan stollen bites (can eat a whole box!)
  • Salmon and dill parcels
  • Any of the flatbread pizzas
  • Deluxe mustard and honey salad dressing

I love threads like this!

Iceland have some hidden gems:

Maris Piper oven chips - great in an air fryer

Sweet potato fries

Fish strips in different flavours - salt and vinegar, curry, tandoori

Huge bag of crispy shredded chicken for £6.50 tastes like from a Chinese, do salt and pepper version too

Tgi Fridays range - had the chicken buffalo bites, very good

Greggs sasauge rolls

Garlic sausage ideal for sandwiches

Garlic bread stuffed crust pizza

Very hot chilli sauce which is like you'd get from a kebab house

Fake ikea meatballs

The Indian ready meals are good for the price

Rice pudding in the fresh section

Strawberry and banana smoothie mix

I've noticed recently they are selling a huge chicken and leak pie, I'm waiting until my freezer goes down to get one.

lilacmoon78 · 23/11/2020 00:28

oh i'm gungry now

If you value your waistline, do not go near these. More addictive than crack cocaine (I'm assuming 😆).

Wetsuit that was a gift bought for me from the "middle aisle" Grin

McAvennie · 23/11/2020 07:02

M&S Chocolate Mini Rolls in the purple packet - soooo chocolately I make a special trip just to buy them!

EllyNC · 23/11/2020 07:07

Lidl’s Portuguese tarts and chocolate brownies (from the bakery) are INCREDIBLE. Best brownies I’ve bought.

Oh and aldi caramel chocolate 😍
Also not food but aldi no 3 candles/reed diffuser/moisturiser etc. Pomegranate just like the jo malone one ❤️

EllyNC · 23/11/2020 07:07

Oh and Iceland all butter mince pies oh my gooooodness they are so soft and delicious

Sonicthehedgehogg · 23/11/2020 07:08

Aldi skin on fries, Greek yoghurt, chocolate mousse (not the butterscotch one though).
Not good but I really like the Lidl Cien shampoo/conditioner (fake Pantene bottle) for volume and body. Cheap shampoo for fine, greasy hair is really hard to find and it's the one I keep coming back to.

Is it a specific Toro Loco wine from Aldi? Or any of them?

Sonicthehedgehogg · 23/11/2020 07:09

*not FOOD. It definitely is good.

QueenPaws · 23/11/2020 07:09

@WhenPushComesToShove oh god, I can't have those in the house Grin
Especially with hummus

Gingerkittykat · 23/11/2020 07:14

Lidl chipstick like crisps, can't remember the name but a good nostalgia trip and about 60p for a big pack.
Lidl posh marmalade and jam range, nicer than the big brands about about 80p each.

Tesco smoked ham slices in the Polish section, a pack is £1 while good quality ham from the normal section can be double that.

LadyPenelope68 · 23/11/2020 07:16

@Qpobb
Anyone tried the white chocolate baileys from Aldi yet??
OMG! How did I not know this exists???? I will be off for some of that!

Gingerkittykat · 23/11/2020 07:17

I forgot the Aldi chocolate thins which are like Pringles only chocolate instead. The orange ones are lovely with little grains of orange in them.

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 23/11/2020 07:21

Not the most exciting of ingredients, but I rate Lidl’s British Rapeseed Oil. It’s less than half the price of any of the others.

Lidl’s Gravadlax salmon is YUM
Lidl’s caramel waffle biscuits (stroopwaffle?)
Lidl’s cheeses are good and their posh frozen stuff is excellent

HBGKC · 23/11/2020 07:27

"Also, Morrison's stone baked white pitta breads are above all others"

Yes, this! They're fab.

Sainsbury's French Style Mayonnaise 👌
(There's a lot of Mayo on this thread...)

The Marks and Spencer Hot Chocolate Fudge Pudding. www.marksandspencer.com/large-hot-chocolate-fudge-pudding/p/fdp60058086

It’s out of stock but that’s because I have eaten them all.

JacobReesMogadishu · 23/11/2020 07:42

Going to have an aldi and Lidl expedition this week.

JacobReesMogadishu · 23/11/2020 07:43

I love the M&S blueberry pancakes.
Also the M&S onion baji curry which I only find on Ocado not in the shops.
Morrisons salt and pepper bloomer

CabinPressure · 23/11/2020 09:06

Such a good thread.

Aldi:
Baking Camembert with chorizo
Beef dripping chips
Very Berry granola (has loads of fruit in)
Chocolate orange ice cream

Sainsbury's:
Cheddar and jalapeño sticks

Morrisons:
Salted tiger bread baguette

It's gluten free too. Need to try to get some in for Christmas.

springtimeinbognor · 23/11/2020 12:16

Aldi peanut butter - its in a glass jar and is 100% peanuts, nothing added. Delicious. Just had a slice of toast and peanut butter, and might have to have another...unless I succumb and open the stollen bites....

shas19 · 23/11/2020 12:55

Moser Roth cherry and chilli oh my God. I just bought some thanks to all of your recommendations

teawamutu · 23/11/2020 13:26

Has no-one mentioned the pastel de nata custard tarts from Lidl bakery? Currently 6 for £2?
