I figured it can't hurt to share here (rather than on local Facebook groups!).

Mine are:
Sainsburys: Mini breaded cambemberts (bloody hell they're good!).
Aldi: Torro Loco red wine, and "extra special" cauliflower cheese
M&S: Dulce de leche truffles

All very healthy as you can see....

I need to get myself to Aldi. Another vote for the Co-Op Sea Salt and Chardonnay Vinegar Crisps. I developed a bad habit for these over the summer with a chilled glass of Rose (or three).

@WouldstrokeTomHardy

Can I ask as an Aldi virgin if the cooked and fresh meat is British?
Not sure about cooked meat but the fresh is usually locally sourced, so yes British. Double check the labels but often they have very clear signs supporting British meat
bananamonkey · 22/11/2020 09:23

Aldi and Asda for almond butter, so much cheaper than branded stuff.
Aldi dark chocolate nut bars.
Lidl coconut Greek style yogurt is delicious and their dark chocolate with raspberries (JD Gross). They also have tonnes of Ritter Sport flavours in Lidl.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 22/11/2020 09:24

Sainsbury’s taste the difference chocolate truffles are lovely.

bananamonkey · 22/11/2020 09:26

@Lincslady53

Aldi and Lidl both sell chocolate coated marzipan bars at this time of year. I love the run and raisin version.
OMG the praline one is delicious! I’ve eaten about 4 already and it’s not even December Blush
Whattheduck · 22/11/2020 09:53

I’ve not been to Aldi for ages as I found the dates on a lot of stuff were rubbish and the fruit and veg went off almost overnight so it put me off but they did Frangipane mince pies last year which were delicious
Second the Lidl marzipan bars heaven also their own shortbread fingers are really good
Tescos Almond croissants are amazing as are there finest cheese and red onion crisps and they do finest pork and honey sausages which are lovely (just having them now in a sandwich)

Fivefootoffun · 22/11/2020 09:58

@ReallySpicyCurry - you anywhere in the north west ish? There’s one just over the border in Buncrana if you are!

CaveMum · 22/11/2020 10:04

I do most of my shopping in Aldi. Our favs:

Ballycastle (fake Baileys - a third of the price and tastes better!)
Any Moser Roth chocolate
Salted Caramel Mince Pies (Now in store but I’m waiting a bit longer as currently the best before dates are all before Christmas!)
Mini Chocolate Lebuchaun Hearts - I’d happily live off these! I buy 2 a week as soon as they appear up until Christmas so that we are well stocked!
Specially Selected Sirloin Stake
Specially Selected crisps - the mature cheddar and red onion are a favourite here but the roast beef and horseradish are also fab.
Mamia nappies - mine are thankfully finally past the nappy stage but these were great and so much cheaper than branded.

CaveMum · 22/11/2020 10:09

@Qpobb if you are off to Aldi today look out for these. I promise you won’t regret it! My main advice - buy several packets!

Aldi garlic bread in the pizza box...they do a tiny one for 99p or a bigger one for £2.49 I think. It's on a par with dominoes!

Also, someone mentioned the garlic pizza dip...we use the really cheap garlic and herb sauce available from supermarkets and home bargains, B&M etc. It's in a plastic tall bottle with a flip top. It's £1 a bottle and looks dead cheap. Tastes exactly like dominoes dip.

Lidl fresh brownies are to die for.

Aldi choc chip brooch loaf is delicious lightly toasted (beware though...it gets stuck in the toaster if it's really fresh and cooks very quickly!!)

ReallySpicyCurry · 22/11/2020 10:10

@Fivefootoffun miles away. It's gutting, it really is. Especially when I'm still tormented by the ads! Grin

Fivefootoffun · 22/11/2020 10:13

@ReallySpicyCurry - ah pity, can’t understand why they’ve not arrived in N I yet!

Qpobb · 22/11/2020 10:15

I already have 2 packets of lebkuchen hearts from a previous trip - the ones filled with apricot are AMAZING 💕

Sensible woman. But buy more, you can never have too many packets!
pepsicolagirl · 22/11/2020 10:21

Lidl advocaat is about £5.50 a bottle and if they don't get it in this year I will cry.

Co op do THE best posh pizzas. Plus another vote for the posh salt and vinegar crisps and also their chocolate (again, the posh stuff) is amazing

Aldi fish and meat is excellent. I love their teriyaki thigh bites. They also do lush tiger bread now and their iced coffee is about 55p and I love it.

userxx · 22/11/2020 10:23

Aldi are doing a very good rip off version of campo Rioja, definitely worth a try 🍷

AnythingLegalConsidered · 22/11/2020 10:28

Just bought some Iceland Luxury Mince Pies because I read that they’d won the Which? taste test. Very nice indeed.

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 22/11/2020 10:30

@HillaryWhitney

Sorry not food - but the Aldi reed diffusers are brilliant! Really strong scents and last for ages
Even in larger rooms?
isseywith4vampirecats · 22/11/2020 11:44

i love aldi and too many things i like to list most of which have already been metioned, except their specially selected cheese in the black packets the scottish cheddar is fabulous,
and always got aldis luxury coleslaw till we bought som of the luxury coleslaw from iceland it knocks spots off the aldi one because it has creme frais added its lush

HillaryWhitney · 22/11/2020 11:45

@BarryWhiteIsMyBrother yes!

I have one in my open plan sitting room/diner and you can smell it throughout the whole downstairs

BarryWhiteIsMyBrother · 22/11/2020 12:33

That's amazing - I'll get some then! Thank you.

Tigger03 · 22/11/2020 12:46

Great thread idea. My current favourites are:
Aldi
The torro loco wine
The gavi
Baked Camembert with bacon
Specially selected triple chocolate cookies (in a box - absolutely divine)
The cook yourself fish curry
The glass pot desserts - there’s a lemon posset, Belgian chocolate or salted caramel.

Tesco
The bakery cheese sourdough
The Mediterranean tomato loaf

userxx · 22/11/2020 12:49

@HillaryWhitney Are those the JM dupe ones?

lidoshuffle · 22/11/2020 12:57

Lidl Gold ground coffee; excellent and comes in a 500g solid brick - great value and better than the 'poshe' branded ones.
