It's both of us...

I didn't have a classical education. But I did read I, Clavdivs.
In which case the past 30 years shouldn't really come as any surprise.
BruceAndNosh · 29/11/2020 16:00

It is suggested that Trump's feet look slightly small because his shoes have invisible "lifts" in them which also explains his slightly odd posture (and discomfort with ramps)

BruceAndNosh · 29/11/2020 16:20

I do wonder is there is a bit is distraction about all these court cases , (or as they mostly are "hotel ballroom cases" ) being waged by Trump et al.
For months he has been saying the only way he could lose was if the other side cheated. That's not just Trump grandstanding, that's CERTAINTY in the face of poor polls.
So maybe we should be looking more closely at the states where Trump WON....maybe the election WAS rigged, but in HIS favour, but they just didn't allow enough to counteract the Democrat surge.

Absolutely NO evidence to support this supposition, but then apparently evidence doesn't really matter these days

chomalungma · 29/11/2020 16:24

It could just be distraction whilst he does a lot of damage before he leaves.

chomalungma · 29/11/2020 16:54

He's given an interview

President Trump blasted judges' rejections of his legal challenges to 2020 election results and said he couldn't be certain any of his cases would make it to the Supreme Court in his first interview since Election Day on Sunday.

"We’re not allowed to put in our proof. They say you don’t have standing," Trump told "Sunday Morning Futures." "I would like to file one nice big beautiful lawsuit, talking about this and many other things, with tremendous proof. We have affidavits, we have hundreds and hundreds of affidavits."

www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/pennsylvania-high-court-throws-out-challenge-mail-ballots-n1249240

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Saturday rejected an election challenge spearheaded by U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, who argued that a law permitting no-excuse mail voting violated the state Constitution.

Just for context. And nuance.

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall

BREAK: The Wisconsin recount, requested by and paid for by the Trump campaign, is complete. The result?

Biden gained 87 votes. As expected, he’s carried the state.

chomalungma · 29/11/2020 17:08

A bit more from that interview

Trump added that he was "ashamed" he endorsed Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp after Kemp certified the state's presidential election results in favor of President-elect Joe Biden. Kemp also called for an audit of the votes.

Trump has yet to concede the 2020 election, even as Biden announces Cabinet members and plans for when he takes office in January.

"My mind will not change in six months. There was tremendous cheating here," Trump warned. "If Republicans allow it to happen, you’ll never have another Republican elected in the history of this country, at a Senate level or at a presidential level."

DuncinToffee · 29/11/2020 17:11

More from Lewis Goodall

The recounts of Wisconsin’s two most populous counties (Milwaukee and Dane) has cost the Trump campaign $3 million. It has uncovered no evidence of electoral fraud. Instead it discovered some untabulated votes which have (net) broken for Biden.

Trump has nonetheless promised further litigation before the state’s certification.

DuncinToffee · 29/11/2020 17:25

Trump added that he was "ashamed" he endorsed Republican Georgia Gov.

He is enjoying punishing Georgia, 3rd recount using tax payers money with many Georgia counties working through the holiday weekend.

Mittens030869 · 29/11/2020 17:41

The crazy thing is that he genuinely can't comprehend why he can't have what he wants, for the election result to be overturned. Sorry, Donald, but you're in the US not Russia or Belarus.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/11/2020 17:45

If he had all this proof he'd be broadcasting it (via Giuliani). He doesn't have any. And I don't think any judge so far has said "you don't have standing": the ones I['ve seen so far have said "you don't seem to have any evidence..."

One of the things I'm going to be sooooo glad to NOT see anymore is a POTUS that uses ridiculous amounts of hyperbole and superlative adjectives, especially when he's lying (which is pretty much always). It's like fingernails on a blackboard to me.

Yes! Whyyyyyyyy why why are people sucked into this Q Anon bollocks? I do not get it. Is it caused by post traumatic stress disorder?

Anon778833 · 29/11/2020 17:52

From Covid I mean.

As far as he's concerned "Because I said so" is evidence and "Because I want it" is proof. We really are seeing what a malignant narcissist does when, for probably the first time in his life, he's being thwarted in what he feels belongs to him.

I hate the amount of money the states are having to throw away defending his bullshit petty crap. Think of the PPE that could have been bought or the meals for shut ins/at risk people that could have been provided with that money. It's disgusting.

Anon778833 · 29/11/2020 17:57

I would like to file one nice big beautiful lawsuit,

A bit like the big, beautiful wall? 😂

I suspect the US and UK are cut from the same cloth there. Same way the money saved on Foreign Aid in the UK will never go anywhere near the homeless, poor and hungry, then that money in the US would have just been left unspent. Certainly there's very little danger of it going towards anything worthy.

borntobequiet · 29/11/2020 19:54

Trump said he was ashamed? But he doesn’t know the meaning of the word!

chomalungma · 29/11/2020 20:40

From the Guardian

According to the Washington Post, the last-ditch effort has attorneys within the campaign describing – Trump’s legal advisor as increasingly “deranged.” One close adviser told to The Post that Trump was like “Mad King George” going around the White House ‘muttering, “I won. I won. I won.”
