Why throw the whole cake, and not just the slice and two thin slices either side?

He was very U but as others have said you were U to throw away the whole cake because of it

cariadlet · 19/11/2020 16:14

He was an unthinking idiot but you were even dafter and more U for throwing the whole cake away.

Buzzer3555 · 19/11/2020 16:15

I had the idea that raw chicken juices would have dripped on it. You are right im a stroppy bag. I may go and retrieve from bin Smile

I’d have binned it too op

completeberk · 19/11/2020 16:18

kill him

ZombieAttack · 19/11/2020 16:21

He’s an idiot. But I wouldn’t have thrown the whole thing away.

FOJN · 19/11/2020 16:22

Why did you watch him do it and not say anything? I'd be a bit worried that was his normal standard of food hygiene and would have taken the opportunity to point out the risks.

You did the right thing by binning it
AngelasLastEgg · 19/11/2020 16:25

If you really had to bin it (you didn’t) you could have at least fed it to some birds or something.

Eating a cake out of a bin is even worse!
ShinyGreenElephant · 19/11/2020 16:28

I would have binned it too and probably binned him while I was at it. Vile 🤮

HotSince63 · 19/11/2020 16:29

I think I'd have let him eat it.

Seriously though, how's he got to the age he is without knowing you just don't do that? Confused

LG101 · 19/11/2020 16:31

I would have binned the whole thing too!!!

Mittens030869 · 19/11/2020 16:33

I think I would have binned it too tbh. You can’t be too careful where raw chicken is concerned, salmonella is nasty. Stupid man.

Thehop · 19/11/2020 16:33

I’d be binning the bloody husband, lemon drizzle is my favourite

GeidiPrimes · 19/11/2020 16:41

No, don't eat bin-cake! Shouldn't he replace the cake, as he ruined it? Had you even eaten any yourself?

I'd be fucking livid.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/11/2020 16:45

That was incredibly wasteful and totally unecessary.
Or as my DM used to say, hope you never go hungry!

Beamur · 19/11/2020 16:46

How is he still alive? Presumably he has form for similar daftness??

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 19/11/2020 16:46

Eating a cake out of a bin is even worse!

Not a good idea at all - unless you live in Wimbledon, in which case I wouldn't dream of insulting your local culture by criticising.

Worldwide2 · 19/11/2020 16:47

Omg what a waste of a cake 😠 stupid man but I wouldn't have been able to bring myself to chuck the whole cake just got rid of the sides the knife touched.
Lemon drizzle is LUSH!!!!!

Mmn654123 · 19/11/2020 16:50

What a waste of cake. The salmonella wasn't going to run around the inside of the whole cake in the few minutes it would have taken to just slice the chicken-y margins.

Such wanton lemon drizzle cake wastefulness makes me think you don't deserve the cake Op. Maybe have a battenberg instead.

Buzzer3555 · 19/11/2020 16:54

Thanks for the feedback..it made me smile. Said cake is now out of bin and on birdtable. Dh just bought me a galaxy bar so normality has resumedSmile

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 19/11/2020 16:57

He’s definitely a prat OP but please don’t eat bin cake as another PP has said! If he has used the same knife as raw chicken the chances are he hasn’t washed his hands either 🤢🤮
Enrol him on a food hygiene course for Christmas!
