OP posts:

I hope the birds like the cake!
Enjoy your galaxy too!

Daisydoesnt · 19/11/2020 17:00

How in god's name did he slice raw chicken, and then cut a piece of cake with the same knife? That's just bizarre.

donquixotedelamancha · 19/11/2020 17:02

Eating a cake out of a bin is even worse!

OP is not going to eat the cake out of a bin. If you go into settings you can check a box so that ironic/lighthearted posts will be highlighted for you in future.

Kpo58 · 19/11/2020 17:02

So is he going to make you a new cake?

Not a good idea at all - unless you live in Wimbledon, in which case I wouldn't dream of insulting your local culture by criticising.

Round here it would be Burnley.

donquixotedelamancha · 19/11/2020 17:04

So is he going to make you a new cake?

I don't think I'd eat any food he ever prepared (possibly the point of the exercise, is he bad at ironing too?)

tara66 · 19/11/2020 17:04

You are clearly a martyr. (NOT being sarcastic).

diddl · 19/11/2020 17:06

A bar of Galaxy?

He still needs to replace the cake?

Why would he ever use a dirty knife to cut anything else?

turkeymince · 19/11/2020 17:13

Yuck! What a nutter. At least he tried to make up for it.

YoniAndGuy · 19/11/2020 17:14

Normal galaxy or the new raw chicken salted caramel ones?

CustardySergeant · 19/11/2020 17:17

OP, what has your husband said about this? How on earth did he think it was OK to do it? I can't imagine anyone not automatically washing a knife that had been used for cutting raw chicken. Did he really believe there was nothing wrong with it? I dread to think what else he has done if his hygiene standards are so low as to be non-existent. Did he even wash his hands?

I don't get this comment, or the one below referencing it and mentioning Burnley. Confused
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 19/11/2020 17:21

Round here it would be Burnley.

Just to clarify, my earlier statement wasn't a dig at Wimbledonians in general - only a very small (in more ways than one) sub-set!

earlydoors42 · 19/11/2020 17:24

I had campylobacter food poisoning because ex-H somehow didn't know not to use the board and knife from raw chicken on other foods. I lost a stone and a half and was ill for 6 months. Leave the cake in the bin!

Ingridla · 19/11/2020 17:27

Raw chicken knife should immediately have been washed or at least put into the sink / dishwasher. Basic food hygiene. Sorry, you're both unreasonable imo.

Will never forget reading about a family decades ago. Mum prepped a chicken, then made sandwiches for a family picnic. They all went out in the car for a nice tootle. Stopped for the picnic then went home. They all died. Autopsy showed it was under mums fingernails from prepping the chicken.

So I am a bit leery and hate even touching raw chicken to this day.

Coughsyrupsucks · 19/11/2020 17:30

I will give you an alibi Grin what on earth was he thinking? What else has he done to food you don’t know about? Envy

justconcedealready · 19/11/2020 17:37

I don't blame you. I know someone who did something similar recently: they used a knife that had just been used to cut up raw chicken on something else for the meal, and they were all sick as dogs soon after eating the meal.

MikeUniformMike · 19/11/2020 17:48

You've probably poisoned the birds

SpillingTheTea · 19/11/2020 17:52

I'm with you in chucking the whole thing away!

knittingaddict · 19/11/2020 17:57

I've just posted on another thread saying how I like to live dangerously where food is concerned. I would have binned it to.

lilcolibri · 19/11/2020 17:58

Imagine cutting raw chicken, then picking up the knife and slicing a cake?

... I just can't imagine that kind of foolery. I'm thinking this must be the most dull troll thread ever Grin
