AIBU to spend £84 on takeaway coffees in three weeks?

So I’ve checked my online banking today to add up how much I’ve spent on takeaway coffee since I last got paid.

84 bloody pound

What on earth?

I have been going more due to not having much else to do but Christ that is a serious waste of money.

I was planning to go tomorrow but now I can’t justify it.

Not sure what other things I can treat myself to (that isn’t a massive waste) to keep me going .. any suggestions?

Has anyone else had a bigger waste of money than that lately?

I bought myself a birthday / Christmas / Black Friday present of a delonghi nespresso machine four years ago. I use it every.single.day. I currently work in a school and I have a wide array of Waitrose coffee cups that fit in my car's cup holders, so I can take in enough nice coffee to last all morning. I buy the non-Nespresso capsules that use biodegradable plastic and only cost about 20p-30p per cup (plus milk), and there's a huge range in most supermarkets (the Aldi ones are particularly nice), so never spoilt for choice. I also have refillable pods so when I have time, I can use my own ground coffee.

Yes it doesn’t have to be pricey if you drink black coffee, or if you are a person who likes instant coffee, or if you are happy with plain old fashioned cafetière coffee etc.
However my post was responding directly to the original post which was about spending a lot on coffee shop coffees. I was replying to say it’s worth buying a machine and doing your own at home if you like coffees with syrups and foamy milk it can be the best part of £4 a cup in a coffee shop (where as a standard black coffee is around £2).
My machine was pricey at the time but there are now cheaper alternatives that do the same job. I’m sure Aldi or Lidl has a machine coming out next week for around £40 that does everything you would need to make coffee shop style coffees.

Just splurged on new coat (didn't need) but was sooooo gorgeous and half price. Dont feel so bad now, almost twice what you spent on coffee but I have a fabulous new coat and will look smashing for many years. SMUG (boden) anyho it's your cash, if coffee that good go for it.

Buy a good coffeemaker and some good coffee. Then customise your own.

I was going to mention for those concerned about waste with the Nespresso (or similar) coffee pods my husband has a device which separates them out for recycling, but on looking for the brand name have realised between us we have SIX different ways of making coffee. I think we need an intervention...
