Just that really. Lighthearted, fun, relevant.

Most of the other ads I've seen have been tearjerkers so I appreciate the lighthearted "Nobody's on the naughty list this year" sentiment.

ShelbyCherryBlossom · 17/11/2020 20:21

I love it, definitely the best.

Jinglebellissimo · 17/11/2020 20:22

The “I didn’t donate to Captain Tom” bit really made me laugh.

John Lewis was so meh.

Liked the Amazon one with the ballerina.

Agree Tesco hit the right note of timely piss taking of 2020 which I think we all need!

Sparklesocks · 17/11/2020 20:26

Yes I think we need a bit of tongue in cheek at the moment. I enjoyed ‘I told my daughter the tooth fairy is self isolating’ Wink

Jinglebellissimo · 17/11/2020 20:26

The John Lewis one is the first one I’ve ever not enjoyed (though was on the fence with Elton it grew on me).
I do like the amazon one as well, but felt this just struck the perfect note.

I love it, but I have to say the aldi one has made me proper giggle this year. Especially the hedgehog being prickly!
And seeing all the rainbows and stuff in the windows of the houses and the ET bit, just brill.

ToffeePennie · 17/11/2020 20:27

The John Lewis one left me cold. As did the Waitrose one. Both just very sanctimonious and preachy.

Ilikewinter · 17/11/2020 20:28

Yep it made me laugh, also love Kevin the Carrot...dont like John Lewis im afraid and the Coke one made me cry!

Tobebythesea · 17/11/2020 20:29

McDonalds ad is really lovely.

cheeseychovolate · 17/11/2020 20:30

Love it.

MrsJBaptiste · 17/11/2020 20:32

Yes, it's brilliant 😀 Tesco have done well with that 👍

As for the John Lewis one, absolutely dire 😯 altgough i never get the big excitement for their Christmas adverts. They're usually pretty awful but the one this year is just so boring.

Jinglebellissimo · 17/11/2020 20:32

@Tobebythesea agreed - the McDonald’s one is really lovely.

The Woodies Irish ad is my favourite by far!

Scrapper142 · 17/11/2020 20:35

Had a good chuckle at Santa's tan

ToffeePennie · 17/11/2020 20:36

Oooh yes the maccies one is great.

Oxyiz · 17/11/2020 20:36

Yes that really is the better one. I appreciated how good the McDonald's one was but I am so done with food adverts trying to make me sob Grin

MrsGrindah · 17/11/2020 20:41

The McDonald’s one succeeded in making me sob! But I hate McDonald’s!

MaskingForIt · 17/11/2020 20:43

I like the Sainsbury’s one. Mainly for the outrage of the snowflakes on Twitter it caused.

BlindedByTheWork · 17/11/2020 20:45

The chap who said he didn’t sing happy birthday while washing his hands actually made me LOL.

The Asda one annoys me as there are SO MANY people in the house... why didn’t they reflect that this would be very unlikely??

emilybrontescorsett · 17/11/2020 20:50

Yes Tescos is the best one I've seen. Disappointed by the John Lewis one, there again the Snowman one was the best one by an absolute mile.

RickOShay · 17/11/2020 20:53

I agree op
Tesco one cheers me up Grin
And makes me eat more stollen

Titterofwit · 17/11/2020 20:53

Our family favourite is the Supervalu one.

LioneIRichTea · 17/11/2020 20:55

McDonalds ad is really lovely.

But the music is so wrong. Forever Young is about living under the fear of nuclear war!! 😂😂😂

RJnomore1 · 17/11/2020 20:57

Oh that’s made me tear up !
