I was born in 1980 and at the end of the decade was HEAVILY into all the SAW stuff...Kylie, Jason, Sonia...

Possibly my absolute favourite song though was “Leave A Light On” by Belinda Carlisle. I had the vinyl single and played it incessantly (which is harder to do with a record than a CD!) Happy days.

Everything by Paul Young. I loved him so much I decided when I was 11 I was going to marry him one day. I never did.

ViciousJackdaw · 14/11/2020 22:10

I couldn't pick just one, the 80s were a great decade. If we're talking about chart hits then I'll say:
The Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter
Sam Brown - Stop
Robert Howard & Kym Mazelle - Wait
Roachford - Cuddly Toy
I could name many more...

Too many to choose from as it was fantastic decade of music. Some of my favourites are:

Soft Cell - Tainted love.
Tears for Fears - Everybody wants to to rule the world.
Queen - Who wants to live forever.
Frankie goes to Hollywood - The power of love.
Michael Jackson - Beat it.
Enya - Orinoco Flow.
Dexys Midnight Runners - Come on Eileen.
REM - The one I love.

shiningcuckoo · 14/11/2020 22:59

INXS
Prince
Stone Roses
Tracy Chapman
REM
De la Soul
The Communards
The House Martins

I was at Uni in the late 80s. This music reminds me of hangovers, smoking and spending the day in bed with the boyfriend of the month.

BestIsWest · 14/11/2020 23:08

From the early end of the 80s

A town Called Malice - The Jam
Ghost Town - The Specials
Geno - Dexy’s Midnight Runners
Ashes To Ashes - David Bowie
Party Fears Two - The Associates
Tainted Love - Soft Cell
