To feel ever so slightly bereft now Nicola & Katya are out of Strictly?

Honestly, before this year I pretty much turned my nose up at the whole thing and couldn't have cared less. But an increasingly drab lockdown has turned me into a fan of huge grins and sequins and joy and cheese. And, actually, their freestyle dance was utterly life enhancing.

But Sky says Katya has tested positive, so they both have to withdraw. Cannot express how sad I am. (Guess they must be, too ...)

God no! I found the constant boxing references annoying and it would only have gotten worse. I was disappointed tbh Nicola wasn't more light on her feet being a boxer. She was a bit clompy! Lets hope no one goes home this week then.

They were bottom two last week - don't think they would have been in much longer anyway.

I bet it's all a bit stressful for the producers, wondering if they'll get through to the end with the right number of people.

It's a myth that boxers are all good dancers. I used to be a coach and there were some right sights at our club discos

Why can't they isolate and then come back after?

Oh no! Like you I’m really enjoying Strictly this year-I always do, but I think the glamour is especially needed right now. I watch it while working out in my basement and daydream about swirling around in a glittery dress.

I hope they and their loved ones are OK. I can’t imagine that Nicola hasn’t caught it as well with all rehearsals.☹️

What concerns me is how Katya developed covid. I thought they were in a bubble as Tess keeps telling us.
Has she been breaking out or are precautions the bbc has put in inadequate. I understand from news Rylan has also tested positive maybe its a person working on the show that's the issue.

Different subject, but I’ve been so impressed by Bill Bailey and Caroline Quentin. They’re really putting their timing and acting skills to good use- definitely not the comedic oldies as perhaps the producers had assumed. I like most of the contestants this year, including the ones like HRVY whom I’m clueless about.🤣

@Keep1984fiction Rylan tweeted that he has tested negative but still has to isolate as he is asymptomatic

it is a shame, why cant they go back after 2 weeks?
that will ruin the timings?
and poor Jason was knocked out in favour of Nicola.

@Keep1984fiction according to what I read on the main Strictly thread on here, only one half of the bubbled couples is required to isolate, so perhaps Nicola joined Katya's wider bubble and Katya has caught Covid from someone else in that wider household bubble.

It's a shame that they are out of the show, as was looking forward to see how they would cope with the proper ballroom dancing routines,as opposed to all the lively leaping about modern types of dance.

Both have it, Katya is asymptomatic.

Sorry don't follow the gossip as closely as some others.
Having checked the news again seems Rylan has been in contact with a covid case. Maybe even Katya and is just self isolating.

Its a shame isn’t it, I wonder if any of the other couples will suffer the same fate, or even the judges/presenters.

Could be chaos if another couple get it or have to isolate.

I was surprised they brought in family members to visit last week. I know they stayed distanced a bit, but still seemed an odd decision after they'd made such a fuss about how strict they were being with bubbles.

I love strictly, and wish them both well, but to be honest they got on my wick a bit with the boxing references
