The camper van is great as is the tree house.

dameofdilemma · 12/11/2020 12:36

Ooh we have that one (along with loads of other Playmobil).

I'd suggest rather than getting another 'large' piece, get a few smaller sets with compatible accessories.
Maybe a couple of small farm sets and a small shop or ice cream van set?

We've found that dd has played much less with the 'large' structures (using maybe one large structure at a time) but has used the accessories lots, people and animals a lot.

Also you can buy separate Playmobil people which has gone down well with dd.

My 6 year old is the same, she much prefers the figures and vehicles to the actual structures.

I was looking at the camper van but as we have the camping cabin thing didn’t fancy that one. The play Mobil website looks great but I wasn’t sure how long delivery takes as it said add ins can take 6weeks 😕

Check ebay for second hand bundles.

nemeton · 12/11/2020 12:44

There's smaller camping sets with tents which are nice. We have the pool, but hasn't been played with much tbh, other than in the bath!

I've ordered from the playmobil website and I think it took 2 weeks to come, it was only 1 thing though I ordered. Not ordered since.
nemeton · 12/11/2020 12:44

There's also beach buggy/windsurfer sets which would be good, ice cream stands too.

perfectpanda · 12/11/2020 12:47

Just a warning- that playground - Keep hold of the instructions , pictures and all the bits. And plenty of time to set up! It probably isn't as bad as I make out. But every time it comes out i end up swearing and having to google photos. Back in the day the playmobil playground all came as one nice simple ready made piece. Probably why I get irritated as it's too complex for my kids to put together alone...

On a more positive note, my kids love the paddling pool set and any camping bits.

Saladfingersscaresme · 12/11/2020 12:50

eBay really is fantastic for play mobile and happy land bundles. Agree with above poster about keeping all instructions.

Theoscargoesto · 12/11/2020 12:51

My grandchildren 6 and 2 adore playmobil and play with the play park set my own children had at their age! I’d recommend lots of add-ons, and the animal sets have been most popular here. It’s great stuff and it lasts!!

IPeedInThePool · 12/11/2020 13:00

I have had a look on eBay but not much there at the moment luckily the park is steady set up as I’ve bought it second hand 👍

I got a splash park thing that seems to be well played with.

But I totally recommend making some cardboard box houses. I spent a very enjoyable day making a castle from egg boxes and cardboard, string and straws and the kids love it. More than they love the hulking great playmobil ghostbusters house currently filling our landing.

Otherwise: vehicles v popular. Camper van especially. And the tent set too.

petalpower · 12/11/2020 13:06

You need MNetter @Somuchtobits. She knows everything there is to know about Playmobil!

Justmuddlingalong · 12/11/2020 13:07

The tree house is down from £70 to £45 just now if you're near an argos.

Justmuddlingalong · 12/11/2020 13:08

There's other bits at argos in the sale too.

IPeedInThePool · 12/11/2020 13:12

Am actually going to Argos tomorrow aswell didn’t even think of there

MrsBobDylan · 12/11/2020 13:21

No suggestions but I just wanted to say that it's a wonderful idea op, your kids will always remember it!!

It would have been my perfect Xmas to find an already put together PlayMobil land as a child.

MrsBobDylan · 12/11/2020 13:22

Actually, I agree the tree house would be fab - as kids we would have wanted a home each for our play people.

IPeedInThePool · 12/11/2020 13:29

Yep all set up ready the night before on a low table covered in the really really cheap fake grass (super low grassey bits)
Just had a quick peak on Argos the tree house looks great and so does the water park with cafe am stuck but the fact the treehouse comes with animals is a big advantage

OP posts:
nemeton · 12/11/2020 13:38

Oh, that treehouse is fabulous! Envy

Mine are too old for Playmobil now.

SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2020 13:48

I think the treehouse sounds great, and would also go for some of the smaller camping/barbecue type sets. My experience from ordering from the Playmobil website is that the stuff usually arrives within a week or two. The only things which take longer are if you are ordering individual spare parts.

I also set up a lot of my outdoor scenes on fake grass (I chose some with the shortest "turf" I could find!). Actually that just made me think that the fishing pond is a nice add-on!

My kids also love the campervan. The aquarium is also popular and is part of the family life sets if you wouldn't mind them filling it with water. My children seem to play with the animals that came with various sets a lot (farm animals, pets, sea creatures) and they love the food that comes with them too.

IPeedInThePool · 12/11/2020 14:20

Oh that fishing pond is amazing!!! So if I ordered on the play Mobil website would it come in time for Christmas. While the tree house looks good I think I can get more bits for the £50 with individual bits from playmobil site.

OP posts:
SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2020 14:23

Yes, it should come in time for Christmas. I don't think I've ever had an order take more than 2 weeks.
