That bastard that you forget about, until you're looking around for space to put something. Then you look at it and it says "don't look at me love". It's bloody useless.

Surely this is the most useless design feature, yet it's endured for decades. Why??

Another with no idea what a sink drawer is, we just have a big cupboard for cleaning supplies under ours.

You mean in the bathroom? Ours is pretty big so yes, you do have to arrange it quite carefully but I do find it useful.

I’m just replacing the bathroom in our rental flat and decided not to have one as the basin is small and I could imagine it would just get broken.

We have double drawers. Turned a cupboard into extra drawers. They're still all full of crap though.
No sink drawer, just a cupboard. My mum sort of had one years ago but it didn't open - it was just a facade.

My builder went and put a knob on mine, thus encouraging people to pull it when it and wonder why it doesn't open and what secrets it conceals

Haha probably not but they're very old fashioned - my parents kitchen had this when I was younger but since they had their kitchen redone it's just a cupboard.

I've bought / lived in 2 houses and neither of them had the fake drawer, just a cupboard under the sink!

So annoying.
Not as bad as fake pockets though! I had some on a jacket once, assumed at first they were just sewn up but no - they were completely fake. To give the illusion of usefulness, while being completely useless. like certain MPs

My goodness! I thought fake sink drawers were bog standard in most homes . For anybody that doesn't know, a 'sink drawer' is a drawer looking fascia that they put above the cupboard under the sink.

However, I have to give it to a PP that fake pockets in clothing are FAR more annoying and also seem to be limited to women's clothing

I have a drawer in place you describe. It is not a full drawer as has to accommodate the sink but not bad

We have cupboards under ours which are full height. The on,lay drawers we have are two bits and bobs drawers and four deep pan drawers but none on the sink side.

I was at a home being raided for drugs (not as a suspect!) and a policeman tried to open the sink drawer, failed and shouted at the handcuffed owner of the house "Why doesn't this drawer open?" One of his colleagues calmly pointed out that it was the sink drawer and just for show.

I haven’t got a sink drawer. Never had one.

We have a Belfast sink so no fake drawer. I agree it is really annoying.
