Um. Who's actually running the country at the moment?
Is any work actually getting done?

Ouch. Short version of that statement from Georgia S of S would be: "Fuck off."Grin

Apileofballyhoo · 09/11/2020 23:36

Well he has said loud and clear even if there was any irregularity it would be unlikely to make a difference to Trump's vote count.

PatriciaHolm · 09/11/2020 23:39

It's also very very pointed in its reference to voters registering for a runoff who didn't vote in the general election, and that the Republican Senators need to focus on holding the senate, as these are the 2 senators who will be fighting the runoff in January ...

lionheart · 10/11/2020 00:25

Barr doing his master's bidding again.

'WASHINGTON (AP) -- Barr authorizes DOJ to probe 'substantial allegations' of voting irregularities despite little evidence of fraud.'

maggiethecat · 10/11/2020 00:50

seriously, following the euphoria I'm now freaked out at the idea lately being pushed that a concession from Orangeman might be negotiated if he gets to run in 2024 😱🤬

Lweji · 10/11/2020 01:37

4 years is a long time in politics. Wink

How long before Trump is staging a dirty protest in the Oval Office?

DeRigueurMortis · 10/11/2020 02:46

@BilboBercow

How long before Trump is staging a dirty protest in the Oval Office?

He already is...

...plus wiping the detritus on American democracy.

He's unhinged and dangerous.

TheClaws · 10/11/2020 03:04

I suppose it's inevitable - it would be either him or another of the Trump clan. Trump could also be having tantrums and this is part - ie. "I'm running again, you know. No-one can stop me! NO-ONE!"

Scoop: President Trump had already told advisers he's thinking about running for president again in 2024.

Phoenix21 · 10/11/2020 07:01

I suspect Trump will be fully incapacitated by 2024.

That tweet is just cringe. How humiliating.

I’m really worried about civil war though - is Trump able to stage a coup?

StatisticallyChallenged · 10/11/2020 07:22

Trump alone, no. But the republicans seem to be coming awfully close to supporting him trying.

QuestionableDanceMoves · 10/11/2020 07:31

This move by Bill Barr is unbelievable- I have no words.
They are tearing up democracy and there doesn’t seem to be anyone who can stop them

lionheart · 10/11/2020 07:34

www.nytimes.com/2020/11/09/us/politics/barr-elections.html?referringSource=articleShare

'Mr. Pilger, a career prosecutor in the department’s Public Integrity Section who oversaw voting-fraud-related investigations, told colleagues he would move to a nonsupervisory role working on corruption prosecutions.

“Having familiarized myself with the new policy and its ramifications,” he wrote, “I must regretfully resign from my role as director of the Election Crimes Branch.” A Justice Department spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Mr. Pilger’s message.'

This is worrying and unpleasant in equal measures.

Sounds like the perfect superspreader event.

You know how he lied about the virus because he believes in giving people hope.

This is the same thing. He is trying to give his base hope.

What will happen when the penny drops?

Is it wrong to wish Al Gore hadn't done the decent thing and given in gracefully on the Florida hanging chads result?
