If you were given a shopping list with dairy milk on it what would you buy?

Would you buy the much needed treat your DW had looked forward to eating all day. Or would you, like my DH, buy 6 pints of milk assuming the "dairy" was to differentiate between different varieties of milk! First and last time DH is entrusted to do the weekly shop unsupervised!

JonHammIsMyJamm · 06/11/2020 19:40

I would have bought chocolate. So would DH.

EggyPegg · 06/11/2020 19:42

Just asked DH and he said 'chocolate. What else would you get?' and then chuckled when I told him.

Bwlch · 06/11/2020 19:45

Mine would have done exactly the same.

If you want chocolate, ask for chocolate, not milk.

WrongKindOfFace · 06/11/2020 19:46

Oh dear. What a plank.

Meepmeeep · 06/11/2020 19:46

Ok first reading, I thought you meant cows milk and were being ridiculous for stating it had to be milk for a cow. 🤦🏻‍♀️

isupposeitsverynice · 06/11/2020 19:46

three out of four in this house drink almond milk, the shopping list reads "milk, moo milk". who says dairy milk instead of cow's milk? no one, that's who

Tittiana · 06/11/2020 19:48

I would of got you cows milk too.

HavelockVetinari · 06/11/2020 19:49

Sorry OP, the man's a fecking eejit of the highest order Grin

CakeRequired · 06/11/2020 19:51

Your husband is stupid. It's obviously chocolate. Confused

He's probably trying to get out of doing it again. Keep making him and point out he obviously needs the practice for being so dense. Grin

nosswith · 06/11/2020 19:57

I think your DH has a sense of humour. Misplaced as I have learnt that denying a woman who likes chocolate their favourite variety is not a good idea.

Leodot · 06/11/2020 20:00

Oh poor you OP what a muppet he is! 😂 My husband has also been buying similar quantities of milk but that’s because I’m pregnant and craving milk like crazy 😂.

ReggaetonLente · 06/11/2020 20:01

Oh in our house of allergies and vegans it would mean what your DH thought. Except I'd probably write 'cow milk'

Poor you though!

DBML · 06/11/2020 20:01

LTB

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 06/11/2020 20:09

If you it ever buy cow's milk, fair enough

xanthippe8 · 06/11/2020 20:11

@GCAcademic

I know someone who gave her DH a list which included loo rolls. He came back with 100 bread rolls. Fuck knows what he thought she was planning to do with them.
For all the people saying this always gets posted on this type of thread, well just maybe that's because it's a common occurrence. It happened to me.Angry
NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 06/11/2020 20:15

My list would say something like:
8pts blue top
4pts gold top
2pts green top

So "dairy milk" would NOT get confused.

xanthippe8 · 06/11/2020 20:16

Just to add, I'd have bought that awful chocolate!

pincertoe · 06/11/2020 20:17

Just asked my husband what he would buy if I put dairy milk on a shopping list... Chocolate was his reply. He is clearly a keeper 😂

jambeforeclottedcream · 06/11/2020 20:17

I'd buy chocolate Grin and be fuming if it wasn't brought
Milk is semi skimmed in this house

HerRoyalNotness · 06/11/2020 20:17

When I read it I wondered if you’d wanted Cadbury’s or Dove etc. On reflection it’s Cadbury’s.

I have awful conversations around the shopping list with H every week. They got so ridiculous, as in him questioning everything I wrote on it (what’s this, where so I find that, what colour pack is it in?) that I stopped doing meal planning and the list and let him make it up as he goes.

Nyctophyllia · 06/11/2020 20:18

I was going to have a bath, wash my hair etc , DH was nipping to the shop, I asked him to get conditioner as I had ran out ( plenty of shampoo) he came back with Lenor....

SciFiScream · 06/11/2020 20:20

My DH would get chocolate.

Though I once asked him to pick up panty liners for me and he brought home incontinence pads...

OliveHenry · 06/11/2020 20:21

DP does the shopping but I have to do the list.

I once emailed it to him so he could call on his way home from work.

Pomegranate Dove Body Wash managed to split itself across 2 lines on his phone screen, so I ended up with original Dove and a pomegranate Grin

I now use bar soap - it's much safer!

HazelBite · 06/11/2020 20:26

See DH got all confused when he read my list which said "Bottle of Bob" but he did ring me up to check!

transformandriseup · 06/11/2020 20:27

Really? I am surprised so many of you thought ACTUAL milk 🤣. Who calls actual milk “dairy milk”?!

Same
