If you were given a shopping list with dairy milk on it what would you buy?

Would you buy the much needed treat your DW had looked forward to eating all day. Or would you, like my DH, buy 6 pints of milk assuming the "dairy" was to differentiate between different varieties of milk! First and last time DH is entrusted to do the weekly shop unsupervised!

@Katieweasel
Fancy bin bags Grin

Betzlikemetz · 07/11/2020 17:27

Men are hilarious! I once wrote on a list
Jam cream biscuits
You know - those gorgeous round biscuits with a jammy and creamy center!

He came home with jam, cream and rich tea biscuits!

LoisLane66 · 07/11/2020 17:37

Cadbury's chocolate.

LoisLane66 · 07/11/2020 17:40

@Betzlikemetz
If you had written '&' between the words jam and cream, you might have got a different result.
As it is, most people would assume they were three separate items.

MissConductUS · 07/11/2020 17:41

Is he a Yank? I had no idea that "dairy milk" was a type of chocolate when I first started reading posts on MN. In the US it's called milk chocolate, which I think is a bit clearer.

Purplealienpuke · 07/11/2020 17:47

Yabu because nothing less than 74% dark is considered chocolate in my house 🤣
I agree with a pp, you should add a new husband to your shopping list.....

Ddot · 07/11/2020 17:52

I'd make a lovely rice pudding then sprinkle grated milk chocolate on top. Oh forgot you don't have any.😭😱

Cerealnamechangerstrikesagain · 07/11/2020 17:58

I just showed DH this - he said “chocolate, why?”
I married a good’un! Grin

MuddlingMackem · 07/11/2020 17:58

I'd immediately think chocolate, not even bothering to ask DH as he'd also say that.

Sounds like your DH needs to do the shopping regularly from now on as he obviously needs more practice. And I hope you sent him straight back there for your chocolate.

Shopping for a new husband can be very time consuming and frustrating. Don't bin the old one without a good reason. Smile

MuddlingMackem · 07/11/2020 18:00

@MissConductUS, but Dairy Milk is a particular range of milk chocolate.

OwlOne · 07/11/2020 18:00

Funny because my kids the other day told me to stop saying ''dairy milk'' because that is chocolate. But my son uses cows milk and i use almond milk or oat milk. I can so easily see how this happened.

Oh dear grin
I would be angry though.
Chocolate deprived and what the fuck does one do with 6 pints of milk?

I buy around 4-5 6 pints of milk a week for my family of 6 adults......... freeze them

clarehhh · 07/11/2020 18:16

I would have bought full cream milk

Cuppaand2biscuits · 07/11/2020 18:18

I went to the shop earlier and my son asked me to bring him back some Dairy Milk.

Oh gosh my parents did this and I recall drinking the horrible watery milk with ice in it when they hadn't defrosted it early enough. 😂 Soy, almond and cashew all the way here. None of them frozen. 😂
Happycat74 · 07/11/2020 18:23

I immediately thought chocolate.

Neilyweily · 07/11/2020 18:34

Holy virtue signalling batman!!

I'm.only at the end of page one and the vegan bullshit is disgraceful.

Nobody cares whether your family can eat dairy due to medical or pretentious issues.

The op was asking whether her husband is a Muppet or not.

The answer is yes he should have enough sense to realise what the words dairy milk meant he should buy.

And let's face it this isn't the 70s he could have easily contacted her to ask.

Taffster · 07/11/2020 18:48

Chocolate!!!

GYNisaliarWTF · 07/11/2020 18:52

OP YANBU that is divorce territory and I’d be sending him back out

Never heard of these biscuits. As with the OP, you need to be clearer with your list writing.

My immediate and only thought was chocolate otherwise you would have just written milk.

Ddot · 07/11/2020 19:02
