Costa for me but I'm a sweet tooth and don't like strong coffee.

DrFoxtrot · 05/11/2020 14:38

Christmas officially starts for me when McDonalds brings out the Millionaires latte Grin

bruffin · 05/11/2020 14:39

Costa too weak , prefer starbucks and costa have started putting stevia in their drinks

sleepwhenidie · 05/11/2020 14:50

Neither - both usually just terrible.

copperoliver · 05/11/2020 14:51

Costa. X

ZombieAttack · 05/11/2020 14:59

Independents first obviously! We have some lovely ones.

Starbucks tea tastes and looks like dishwater.

Costa they put two tea bags in for me because I like strong tea. I like their hot chocolate. I’m not a fan of Christmas drinks.

ViciousJackdaw · 05/11/2020 15:04

Nero for me. Large latte, extra shot and extra hot. The loyalty scheme is great too. Then Starbucks - my extra shot is free with the loyalty card. Costa is bloody awful and at least two extra shots are needed to make it palatable.

RoseMartha · 05/11/2020 15:43

I prefer Costa coffee. Havent been to a Costa since March 😕

Have been to Starbucks as couple of times only choice

Newkitchen123 · 05/11/2020 15:48

Can't bear all this dressed up coffee.
Coffee should taste like coffee
Not caramel
Not vanilla
Just coffee
Costa americano for me
Starbucks is way too bitter

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 05/11/2020 15:59
  1. Independent. One I use gives a custard cream with every hot drink too and free babycino even though DD is 12 and clearly not a baby
  1. Nero and otherwise McDonald's over Costa or SB. I can't believe how cheap Maccy Ds coffee is for the quality. Plus if you use the app you end up doubling up on loyalty points.

I'd have to be desperate to choose Costa or Starbucks.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 05/11/2020 15:59

Loyalty stickers rather

JacobReesMogadishu · 05/11/2020 16:00

Much prefer Starbucks.
Costa is ok.

I find cafe Nero undrinkable, I can get free coffee twice a week with o2 priority at cafe Nero and it’s next to my office but I don’t have it.

JacobReesMogadishu · 05/11/2020 16:01

Oh and I had an eggnog latte today already! 😁

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 05/11/2020 16:09

Independent coffee shops. You know, ones that pay taxes.

BusySittingDown · 05/11/2020 16:25

I prefer Starbucks for festive drinks, however I'm a tea drinker mostly and I prefer the twinnings tea that they have in Costa over the tea they do in Starbucks.

Unicant · 05/11/2020 16:27

It depends on the place for me. I only ever got coffee to sit in and read my book so it depends on whether I like the physical cafe.
There used to be an absolutely gorgeous starbucks near where I lived with a big wrap around window you could sit in and watch people going past. That shut down a while back..
Now my favourite is a Nero because its got a little table round a corner completely private and quiet but again in the window.
The coffee is all much the same to me.

lanbro · 05/11/2020 16:28

Neither, since I opened my own coffee shop with the most beautiful coffee from an independent supplier I find both Costa and Starbucks so bitter. Gregg's at a push!

Coffeesnob11 · 05/11/2020 16:37

Usually i go independent but you cant beat an eggnog latte from starbucks or a hot chocolate from Paul's bakery.

treeeeemendous · 05/11/2020 17:55

I would choose my local independent but out if the two definitely Starbucks over Costa. The pumpkin spice latte is really nice.

Noitjustwontdo · 05/11/2020 17:58

I used to always say Starbucks when I was younger but nowadays I prefer Costa. Starbucks is just too sickly sweet.

Noitjustwontdo · 05/11/2020 17:58

Greggs and McDonald’s coffee is vile.

Noitjustwontdo · 05/11/2020 17:59

@JacobReesMogadishu same here. I’ve only ever been twice in my life and I had to throw the coffee away. It was disgusting.

CrunchyNutNC · 05/11/2020 18:10

Neither. McDonald's coffee every time, it's much much nicer, nevermind being a fraction of the price.

amusedbush · 05/11/2020 22:06

Whatttt McDonald’s coffee is like drain water! 🤢😂
jambeforeclottedcream · 06/11/2020 07:21

McDonalds coffee 10 years ago was awful

But they've bucked up their game up in recent years, and their coffee isn't that bad now
