Well, just that really?

I can feel it, Trump isn't going to go quietly. This is such a worry.

@tigerbear

  1. Donald Trump is the leader of one of the most powerful and visible countries in the world, he is an "influencer" of the highest order. His racist, sexist and xenophobic behaviour that is going unchallenged by the establishment is creating a harmful impact on us all, I feel women's rights in particular are going back decades with him there. His very presence and vitriol is dangerous for us all, how can we explain to our children the things he says and how he can keep his position? And I absolutely see the UK following suit, we have in so many ways.

  2. try saying that to any UK military family, particularly those who were serving in Bush's presidency and I assure you American politics can have a big impact on them.

No, I think we are about to see something beautiful: the robustness of democratic institutions, Trump’s retreating blubbery form, and a sense of increasing calm.

There won't be any more civil unrest than through the summer with the riots, statue topplers and looters in democrat cities. There would have been civil unrest if Trump won.

I think Trump will try and provoke unrest but the Republicans will want him to go more quietly because they have to think about future elections and the mid terms. Biden will only be in for one term anyway given his age.

@annabel85 he's only 4 years older than Trump, I don't understand why people are obsessing over Biden's age any more than Trump's, is it the fact he has resigned to look his age unlike his opponent? Although with Kamala Harris as VP I can't say I'd be at all concerned, hopeful even that a woman could slip into office because I don't see Americans voting one in any time soon.

The point is more that he's highly unlikely to run again in 4 years at 81 and there's no obvious Democrat candidate (hence Biden in the first place). Harris is a good bet but as you say will America vote a woman in?

I hope so!

The irony of Trump complaining about supposedly 'illegal voting activities" which have as yet no evidence to support them whilst verifiably illegally campaigning from the white house seems not to have been commented on much
