Only on the wards and patient areas or in meetings where we can’t socially distance.

We don’t wear them in the office as it’s big enough to sit 2m apart.

Itawapuddytat · 05/11/2020 09:55

Yes. Interpreter for NHS, police and courts.

@UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme

Why on earth are teachers in the UK being told not to wear them? Thats insane!

Everyone wears them here in schools including children from age 6 - its really not causing any problems except for the parents who always cause problems anyway (the same ones who compained about school residential trips being cancelled last April)...

This is why. All down to the government guidance which says no masks in the classroom and the rest of the time in primary it’s down to the head teacher’s discretion. My headteacher says no so we’re not even allowed visors in the classroom never mind a mask.

In secondary schools there are no masks in the classroom but students and staff must have them in other communal areas such as the canteen. This is new guidance but was no reason why secondary schools shouldn’t have had this mandated from September.

Yes, in retail (well not having to now as the shop is closed but when is open I do!)

Isthisnothing · 06/11/2020 07:24

Yes I'm a teacher. We can remove to eat. I generally do that in the car.

DriveThroughSwabber · 06/11/2020 07:25

Yes, surgical mask all day, gloves, apron and goggles when swabbing each patient. Sanitize hands about 50 times a day, clinell wipe everything. I work at a hospital, not a public drive-through testing area

Dominicgoings · 06/11/2020 07:41

I wear a selection Wink
Basic PPE ( surgical mask, apron, gloves for ex covid or non covid patients), add in a visor and gown for covid +ve patients and then full FFP3, gowns, shoe covers, hair covers for things like trache suction, home ventilation machines etc ( aerosol generating procedures) Begged sone disposable car seat covers from a local garage ( community based)

Outside work I’m developing an unhealthy obsession with finding masks to match what I’m wearing Grin

CeeceeBloomingdale · 06/11/2020 07:43

Just when moving around, not at my desk

OddHoleySocks · 06/11/2020 07:46

Yes. It's not so bad. I micro-pore tape the mask to my nose though, otherwise my glasses steam up. Which isn't fun to remove, so I tend to keto the mask on all the time.

ProfessorofCunning · 06/11/2020 08:04

Yes. Small supermarket where shoppers seem to forget about social distancing when they step inside 🙄 it’s fine when on the till, horrendous when heaving heavy crates of stock about as heavy breathing is more difficult in a mask. I’ve broken out in all sorts of spots, which make me look like I have a horrible skin condition.

Letsbepositive · 06/11/2020 08:09

Yes all the time except when on lunch. Public facing role, many of the public complaining about having to wear them and use sanitiser.

Starting to get a nasty rash around my lips and tried many different shapes/materials.

dancinfeet · 06/11/2020 08:31

Yes in communal read such as reception and corridors, no in the dance studio. I am a minimum of 4m away from my dance students though in the studio when I am teaching and we have strictly limited group numbers. Closed at the moment though!

Porcupineinwaiting · 06/11/2020 08:33

Yes when I'm in the office. I spend v little time there though. On site - only when sd not possible.

LG101 · 06/11/2020 08:41

Yes we work in an office, when we are sat at our desks we can take them off as we are socially distanced but any other time we have to wear a mask

JaneM8888 · 30/11/2020 17:58

Yes, I'm a Podiatrist, so mask/visor, gloves & apron.
