Yes,

NHS. As others - completely unfused about a surgical face masks now.

Less keen on the only FFP3 that fits my face which is a reusable designed for the construction industry and very difficult to communicate while wearing & gives me pressure sores on my nose. I spend a lot of my clinical working life doing AGPs so wear it a lot.

ZombieAttack · 04/11/2020 12:30

Yes, nurse here. I wear a surgical mask unless I’m doing an aerosol generated procedure and have to upgrade to the FFP3.

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/11/2020 12:36

No - not allowed to!

BadEyeBri · 04/11/2020 12:38

Yes. I've got to the stage now we're I feel odd without it on.

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 04/11/2020 12:39

I was made redundant during COVID so I’m not working but DP is a carpenter. He wears masks anyway due to dust but he wears a variety of masks during the day. The only time he doesn’t is if he’s in his office.

unmarkedbythat · 04/11/2020 12:41

Yes. So, so bored of eejits complaining about having to wear them for shops and school runs. We've been at-all-times for months and after a few days you get so used to it, it feels weird when not wearing one.

ShallICompareTheeToASummersDay · 04/11/2020 12:46

I’m wfh but if I need to go into the office I have to wear one at all times unless eating/drinking. I don’t go into the office much anymore!

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 04/11/2020 12:49

Yes, since March. Learning disabilities nurse/ support worker abroad. We started off in a choice of surgical or community masks but have FFP3 now.

UseOfWeapons · 04/11/2020 12:55

Yes, frontline NHS. Like others have said, I feel weird without one when I take it off to come home. I’ve tried to eat my lunch and forgotten I’ve got it on until the spoon meets resistance at the mask!

Pbbananabagel · 04/11/2020 13:04

Yes, takeaway- have to wear a mask and apron and change gloves/wash hands minimum 20 times a day

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/11/2020 13:28

Yes - NHS. Dont have to wear when alone and stationary at desk or alone in a room doing videocall with a patient

IloveJudgeJudy · 04/11/2020 14:02

Not mandatory but managers are encouraged to wear them most of the time. Nearly always in meetings unless only 2 people in a huge room.

Work in a kind of distribution warehouse which is in operation 24/7 with hundreds of colleagues in the building most of the time but it's a huge area.

Always being reminded about social distancing. Sanitiser, masks and gloves very readily available.

Colleagues who deal with the public have to wear them when actually doing so.

Springersrock · 04/11/2020 14:10

No, unless we have customers in the office.

I have my own office so don’t need a mask and when seeing customers face to face we have a customer room with a protective screen so we can take masks off once in there

Our factory is huge, so social distancing is not a problem so we don’t make them wear masks - each member of staff has their own screened off area so they don’t mix on the shop floor

Springersrock · 04/11/2020 14:12

Sorry, pressed send too soon

Masks, soap and hand sanitizer always available, we have staggered their lunch breaks and we’ve provided a couple of covered areas (roofs, but open sides) outside

vanillandhoney · 04/11/2020 14:15

No. I'm a dog walker.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/11/2020 14:48

Yes. Paediatric nurse. My student and I both had Covid last week.

Heatherjayne1972 · 04/11/2020 15:01

Yes. But I have for the last 25 years

it’s no biggie

fastandthecurious · 04/11/2020 15:18

Yep. Work in a supermarket, really didn't like it at first and got really warm from them and often got headaches. I'm fine with it now and barely notice it but my skin certainly does, I look like a hormonal teen 😣

Rowgtfc72 · 04/11/2020 15:40

Factory. Food manufacturing. Been wearing masks for 4 weeks now.

Peanutbutteryogurt · 04/11/2020 16:41

NHS but desk based, not at desk but I do the rest of the time

StCharlotte · 04/11/2020 18:52

Only when seeing clients (solicitors). I have perspex screens round my desk though.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 04/11/2020 18:54

Not at our work stations, but as soon as we get up we have to put them on, eg: to go to talk to someone else or go the the loo.

SocialBees · 04/11/2020 18:55

I have an office (shared with two other people but they're both wfh on the days I'm in). So not when I'm alone in my office, but yes when I'm in a room with other people or moving around the building.

MrsGulDukat · 04/11/2020 19:13

When we are moving around the building and going to other departments. At our desk we dont have to wear them.

AlrightTreacle · 04/11/2020 19:22

I wear a surgical mask, ffp3, or this hood (photo attached). The hood is so noisy that I struggle to hear anything, the belt is fairly heavy and I keep knocking stuff over with the tube at the back, clumsy enough as it is 🤣. The ffp3 makes me feel claustrophobic after an hour. The surgical mask I don't really notice anymore. Annual leave next week Grin.
