To have very specific pyjama criteria?

I’ve been searching high and low for new pyjamas and almost every type that I see has something I hate.

These are my criteria:

  • NO elasticated cuffs/ankles
  • NO fiddly details like lace or ribbon
  • NO button-up tops
  • NO “winter” pyjamas with a t-shirt top
  • NO rigid fabrics (I like a decent amount of stretch)
  • NO garish colours or prints

I literally just want normal neutral PJs with a plain long sleeved top and normal straight/wide leg bottoms with either an elasticated waistband or a drawstring so that they stay up and don’t end up sagging down around my arse. Preferably made from a nice soft and flexible jersey fabric.

Does such a thing exist?

I treated my self to Joules pyjamas at Christmas last year
They are fabulous
Get seperates and you w

IamEarthymama · 03/11/2020 19:11

Will love them!!

nevermorelenore · 03/11/2020 19:11

My main criteria is usually that they not have slogans like "sparkly prosecco princess" or "it's Monday let's drink gin" scrawled across the chest.

The last time I got a really comfy pair that lasted well was from TU at Sainsburys.

thelake · 03/11/2020 19:12

Try OYSHO

thelake · 03/11/2020 19:12

Or muji

ifiwasascent · 03/11/2020 19:13

Mns is good for what you've described

lovemelongtime · 03/11/2020 19:14

Another one for Oysho, exactly what you want.

Mrsjayy · 03/11/2020 19:15

I agree about TU one of my Dc used to work in sainsbury so used to get pj's for Christmas they are comfy and they were not daffy.

Mrsjayy · 03/11/2020 19:16

FaffyBlush

Primark are good for choice, I have several of the ones you describe, long sleeved plain t shirt top and wide leg elasticated waist bottoms. I would buy separates if you want plain tops but from the t shirt section rather than the pyjama section.

Now is the time to look as they will have loads in.

Newuser123123 · 03/11/2020 19:19

After many many hours of searching I bought some from asos. Wide leg trousers and a RALPH LAUREN top! It is the only item of designer clothing I have ever owned, but I was desperate and it is nice.

Whyemseeaye · 03/11/2020 19:21

I'm very particular about PJ's too, with a criteria similar to yours.

The best I've found are from Next.

Sadly, they only seem to make one pair per season that is suitable for what I like.

Long sleeve, wide leg, elasticated waist, not very fussy and with plenty of stretch.

I've had one of my sets for five years and they're still going strong!

MistressIggi · 03/11/2020 19:22

Loads in primark at the weekend, exactly as you describe

GlowingOrb · 03/11/2020 19:22

Latuza

They are pricey, but wonderful. I’m slowly replacing my entire pajama stock.

BitOfFun · 03/11/2020 19:29

Ooh, I can feel a Christmas present for DH from Pyjama Pantry coming on, thank you @PheasantFeathers!

rosegoldwatcher · 03/11/2020 19:33

Like PP I need PJ bottoms that are long enough to not be flapping at half-mast. Some of the M&S PJ bottoms are available in long length.
For example - BOTTOMS

This week I have ordered 2 pairs of bottoms and 2 long sleeved tops for DH to wrap for me for Xmas! (Plus the beauty box.)

Muchtoomuchtodo · 03/11/2020 19:34

My favourite ones happen to fit all your criteria.

They’re from Joules and were a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. One of my favourite gifts ever!

Spreadingchestnut · 03/11/2020 19:35

Esprit!

MintyMabel · 03/11/2020 19:37

Have you tried the men’s dept?

gavisconismyfriend · 03/11/2020 19:40

Men’s pjs from White Company. Range of lovely bottoms and a coordinating grey henley top. They are perfect!

Allywill · 03/11/2020 19:41

Itsokthanks · 03/11/2020 19:43

lockedownloretta · 03/11/2020 19:46
