I know IBU asking here but I have to start doing something before I go pop! What are you doing at home to workout? Any fitness DVD recommendations?
I can’t do anything in daylight hours and after a few incidents near where we live I don’t fancy going out for a run after work.

Chris Hemsworth's app, Centr!!

It designs a personal fitness, meal and meditation plan for you - am loving it.

Regretsy · 02/11/2020 22:20

And for yoga, yoga with adriene is the queen of free YouTube yoga sessions. I love her she’s very soothing, and has some yoga for weight loss videos on YouTube that once upon a time I used in tandem with running and got pretty toned.

Regretsy · 02/11/2020 22:22

Oh, another dance one: Gandalf archer mills (ridiculous name, amazing dance teacher) on YouTube. Poss part of les mills? Has some great hip hop dance workouts on there for free.

BackforGood · 02/11/2020 22:27

Seriously worth trying Joe Wicks - particularly if you haven't exercised much recently.
I know he started it for kids, but honestly, he does thing you can achieve. It is 30 seconds of running on the spot or sparring / shadow boxing. Then it is 30 seconds rest, then he does the next one for 30 seconds. If you can't manage them all at first, just do for 20seconds or 15. You don't need any equipment and you 'do what you can'.

Just had a look at him - looks great and might add that to my home working 'repertoire' (because let's face it, the world needs a 47 year old like me trying to do hip hop dancing in her garage Grin) I also agree that Fitness Blender is brilliant. I've also found (and love) Heather Robertson - she has tons of stuff on YouTube and a big following on her FB site. She's not necessary for true beginners though as she doesn't talk you through the exercises.

I wasn’t sure at first, but tried chloe Ting 2 week shred, and to my utter disbelief my waist measurement and hips went down by an inch and half (inch around waist and half around hips). I wasn’t really ‘good’ with my diet so didn’t expect much.
I’ve been lazy since, but hoping to do some more of her challenges.
Sydney Cummings is also a good one- another free YouTuber!

Pukkatea · 02/11/2020 22:35

Fitness blender have so much variety in length, difficulty, style etc that I never hesitate to recommend them - no matter how fit you are or how.much space/equipment you have you can always find something that will suit. Also they are very good for proper, comprehensive fitness, unlike a lot of youtube gurus and body coaches who don't seem to know what they are talking about and have badly designed workouts based solely on aesthetics, focus too much on one area of fitness, or have moves that are going to cause injuries and muscle imbalances.

SantaMonicaPier · 02/11/2020 22:37

Les Mills, I like the dance ones. Also Joe Wicks 90 day plan.

Janaih · 02/11/2020 22:39

I lost 2.5 stone during first lockdown calorie counting and doing davina power of 3 and a rosemary conley dvd my mum gave me. Both have given me brilliant muscle tone and I've since started to mix it up with some joe wicks hiits and fitness blender workouts. YouTube is a goldmine of workouts!

Cuddling57 · 02/11/2020 22:50

I just search you tube as I get bored easily.
Today I searched got standing up and exercises and did a ten min video!
Love Adrianne Yoga and will try some of the other suggestions on here too.

PurpleDaisies · 02/11/2020 22:53

I really like yoga with Adriene.

Dogwalks2 · 02/11/2020 22:53

Les Mills loads to choose from, although I will never give up my gym membership, you can take my first born instead.🤣🤣🤣

gingerscot · 02/11/2020 22:54

Djchickpea

Les Mills on Demand is the answer

Definitely this!

LadyCatStark · 02/11/2020 23:00

I love Popsugar too 🥰

CoconutLassi · 02/11/2020 23:05

The fitness blender woman irritates me too much to concentrate.

Another vote for fitness Marshall, his routines are so much fun, it doesn't really feel like exercise, plus you get to feel smug when you've mastered one of the dances.

megletthesecond · 02/11/2020 23:08

Fitness blender. Loads of workouts and you can play your own music over the top.

villanova · 02/11/2020 23:13

Decathlon (the sports retailer) on Facebook have been running free classes: I've loved Geraldine's live classes 2 mornings a week: I prefer to turn up to live classes than recorded, but I have been doing Les Mills in between, as there's lots of variety

BackforGood · 02/11/2020 23:38

Another who likes yoga with Adriene, but I see that as quite a different thing from an exercise video where I might get out of breath, and I will raise my temperature and sweat a bit.

Dauphinois · 02/11/2020 23:46

Another vote for Popsugar on Youtube.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 02/11/2020 23:46

Another Les Mills on demand fan here!

BecauseOfTheRain · 02/11/2020 23:54

Another Les Mills on Demand vote from me. It's saving my sanity!

Just wanted to say thank you for recommending the Fitness Marshall! I started my morning with a big smile after doing one of the routines Grin

I've just discovered mad fit on YouTube, her dance workout are really fun.

UnconsideredTrifles · 05/11/2020 13:12

On Popsugar's channel on YouTube there is a tiny, cheerful lady who does boxing/kickboxing workouts - I think her name is Christa dePaulo?

I have never stuck with exercise in my life, but I've been doing her videos every other day for a couple of months. You have to really focus, so you don't notice the exhaustion so much, and I definitely feel fitter from them.

getmeavodka · 05/11/2020 13:13

Another vote for syndey Cummings on YouTube. Great variety and easy to adapt for all levels
