Is it ok to still speak to ex work colleagues of the opposite sex? Where is the line?

Would be interested to know everyone's thoughts on staying in touch with ex work colleagues of the opposite sex. Is it reasonable?

For example if your partner left a job but was still talking to female colleagues he no longer works with and insists it's just a friendship (eg added them to their work teams even though they work at different companies now). Is this crossing a line or perfectly acceptable? I found out by chance and wasn't told about it either.. but is it innocent? I don't think there is talk beyond there but it's hard to tell.. I know they haven't met up as he's hardly left the house without me or people I trust he was actually with since lockdown.

Your problem is taking back a cheat. You will never be able to trust him. Whether or not this relationship is innocent doesn’t matter as you are already paranoid.

@Mustbe3ormorecharacters

I will and did read the full thread but when someone asks a simple question in the original post I’m going to answer it. It’s lazier of the original poster not to include the relevant information in the OP.
Well it was never intended to be laziness. My head is a total mess, first my mum is admitted to hospital with COVID and now I find out this.. not exactly the best version of myself right now Sad

I don't know why you're getting a hard time op but trust what your gut is telling you

Mustbe3ormorecharacters · 02/11/2020 12:09

I understand completely and I’m sorry for being so harsh. In your position I don’t think I would be able to trust him again, since it’s his fault you don’t trust him he should be jumping through hoops to restore that trust. Do you think he is willing to do this? I’m sorry you are having such a hard time and I hope your mum is better soon. Brew

My friend that I spoke about in my earlier post was old enough to be my dad. However our mutual interest was football and beer and we done the same job where age is irrelevant.

I am now good friends with his wife but unfortunately that only happened after he died as she wasn't interested in football etc.
