Or is it against the rules?

In spirit, I don’t see the issue (we won’t be near other humans)

In letter, I am not sure, is it allowed or not this time around to rent a self contained accommodation?

OP posts:
myhobbyisouting · 01/11/2020 16:13

"Just don't get yourself into pickle so you don't have to call the air ambulance and explain :P"

Oh yeah, hilarious.

tappitytaptap · 01/11/2020 16:13

Well I agree there is very little risk OP, but everyone on here will come and hand you your arse on a plate and scream ‘stay at home’!

MiddleClassMother · 01/11/2020 16:20

Unfortunately you get a lot of fierce responses on here OP. You asked a genuine question and was attacked, as is typical. Don't take it personally. I just hope you listen to the sensible advice and don't go.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/11/2020 16:21

@BeardieWeirdie

No unnecessary travel so you can only climb if you can walk in from your house.
Oh god, the MN rules again. As per the government website you are allowed to travel for exercise.
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/11/2020 16:25

@Mooballs

We're going to have 100s of these dumb-arse posts from numpties arent we.....sigh.
And hundreds or dumb-arse replies from the self appoint MN Covid police pushing their own, entirely made up, version of the rules.
ilovesooty · 01/11/2020 16:25

For exercise, not to stay overnight.

ilovesooty · 01/11/2020 16:27

And the OP has thanked people who linked to the legislation and won't be going.

Sertchgi123 · 01/11/2020 16:28

It's probably better to consult the appropriate government page, rather than ask on here.

The op was wanting to stay overnight which isn't allowed though.

Nanny0gg · 01/11/2020 16:39

Aren't these threads just glorious?

The OP asks a question, accepts the answer and asks for clarification of source so she knows more for the future.

And then everyone else feels like they're in the mood for a pile-on where they can be as rude and nasty as they like even though the OP has accepted the answer.

Lockdown fever already?

Bluntness100 · 01/11/2020 16:42

Yes, and when they are done abusing the op, they flip over to another thread and slag someone else off for being abusive. Apparantly it’s ok if it’s on line and it’s about Covid. Then it’s gloves off and you can abuse someone as much as your heart desires.

Ginfordinner · 01/11/2020 16:46

I copied this list (for my own reference) but it is very clear what we can and can't do:

These are the new restrictions for England:

• Only leave your home for specific reasons - for childcare or education, work if you cannot work from home, to exercise outdoors or visit an outdoor public place, medical reasons, to escape injury or harm, shop for food and essentials, to provide care for vulnerable people or visit people in your support bubble, or as a volunteer
• No mixing of different households inside homes, except for childcare and other support
• No mixing of households outside, except for exercising or visiting a public place with one other person
• People who shielded in March do not have to shield again, but clinically vulnerable and over-60s are advised to limit social contacts and follow rules carefully
• All pubs, bars and restaurants to close - takeaways and deliveries allowed, but no takeaway alcohol
• All non-essential retail to close, but deliveries to customers and click-and-collect can continue
• Food shops, supermarkets, garden centres and certain other retailers providing essential goods and services can remain open
• International travel out of the UK banned, except for work
• Travel within the UK discouraged, except for work
• Work places should stay open where people cannot work from home
• Support bubbles remain
• Children allowed to move between homes if parents separated
• Outdoor exercise and recreation encouraged and is unlimited - only with your household/bubble, on your own or with one other person from a different household (golf is not allowed)
• People can sit on park benches and have picnics as long as it is with their household
• Services in places of worship banned but private prayer permitted
• Funerals allowed with close family members only

England's second lockdown: PM details new rules
• Manufacturing and construction to continue
• Childcare settings, schools, colleges and universities to remain open
• Playgrounds to remain open
• Medical appointments to continue as normal
• Vets to remain open
• Courts to remain open
• Job centres to remain open
• Professional sports allowed but amateur sports are not
• Premier League matches will go ahead
• Hotels and hostels to remain open for people travelling for work and limited other reasons

Just a way of signalling how GOOD they are and how COMPLIANT and AMAZING. Hmm

I really thought we'd moved past the "selfish murdering twat for buying an easter egg / eating crisps on a bench" but obviously not.

JacobReesMogadishu · 01/11/2020 16:49

You're lucky you live in Sheffield. You've got great climb on your doorstep. Hopefully places like stanage and Curbar will be quiet if non locals can't get.

RaspberryCoulis · 01/11/2020 16:49

And as if to prove the point we have the "STAY THE FUCK AT HOME" poster.

Where's my bingo card? Has anyone said "blatantly flouting" yet?

No, just surprised that they're asking on here instead of consulting the Government Website.

I know that, but this post said she could only climb if she can walk from her house which is clearly wrong. I thought everyone else had made it clear she couldn't stay over.
Bluntness100 · 01/11/2020 16:51

Agree raspberry, I’ve reported that poster. I have no idea why people think this is ok. We had this abuse last time and it’s less than twenty four hours and it’s happening again.

feelingverylazytoday · 01/11/2020 16:55

People do it all the time. Quite often they don't really want to know the answer, just to start off yet another wankfest about what a shitshow and a shambles it all is and Boris is a fat wanker etc etc etc.
I'm sure this OP is genuine though 😁

@RaspberryCoulis how can she go where the place she is hoping to stay at won't be allowed to be open?

Also climbing may be low risk COVID wise but might be slightly higher risk from an accident point of view. There was a reason A&E was quiet from an accident point of view during the last lockdown.

You think your hobby is essential travel???

Caroncanta · 01/11/2020 17:32

You think your hobby is essential travel???

The op didn't say that did she. Get off your soap box.
