Good winter waterproof boots recommendations

Sorry not aibu but posted in shoes and clothing and not responses. Any good recommendations for a quality waterproof winter boot? Are Timberland boots any good? Sick and tired of buying cheapo boots that only last 5 minutes and don't keep my feet dry. I need waterproof long lasting ankle boots. I have small feet so can fit into kids size 5.5/6 but I don't want to spend £120 on Timberlands if they are poor quality. If not, any recommendations that are under £150?

Timberland are not as good now as they once were quality wise .
Have you tried somewhere like tresspass, karimor, decathlon, cotton traders

Justmuddlingalong · 31/10/2020 21:52

Sorel

TigerBrite · 31/10/2020 21:55

Another vote for Sorel. Best waterproof boots ever!

Cabinfever10 · 31/10/2020 22:27

These are from mountain warehouse. I live in mine. They are fully waterproof and are both really comfy and sturdy they last too.
Oh and give great grip in the mud

Sorel are a bit more fashion/snow boot.

If you dont mind it looking like more of a walking boot, go Lowa. I had a pair and they lasted 14 years and were weatherproof through anything.

MojoMoon · 31/10/2020 22:33

Sorel or Ugg adronidrack - you can get them for under 200 quid if you shop around and they are brilliant

Gohackyourself · 31/10/2020 22:35

Dubliners - horse riding type brown boot. Go well with jeans, leggings etc

Littlebutload · 31/10/2020 22:36

I have these, they are lovely and comfy, warm and waterproof. I also think they look grand with skinny jeans. Sorry link is for irish decathlon site

I have these from Decathlon after my Merrells sprung a leak and have spent more than my fair share of soaking wet days camping with toasty warm feet.

I'm a bogs fan - but more ankle welly type than walking boot

June2008 · 31/10/2020 22:51

Sorel. Will keep your feet warm and dry. And will last!

OkOkWhatsNext · 31/10/2020 23:01

My Sorel ones are the comfiest boots I’ve ever had. And warm and waterproof.

May09Bump · 31/10/2020 23:03

Sorel, merrell, northface, timberland have stood up to the test in Norway and NY winters.

Spacie · 31/10/2020 23:15

@Cabinfever10 I bought a pair of those just last week. The reviews were good and they are very comfy. I haven't tested them out in the mud yet because that will spoil their shiny newness Grin

I got these with their 20% off sale. Haven't arrived yet but they get a great write up.

StillMedusa · 31/10/2020 23:26

Ariat Langdale .. slightly more pricey and higher boots but gorgeous to wear (so comfy) and they last!

I also have Merrells.. shorter, also comfy but not quite as brilliant!

FastFood · 31/10/2020 23:35

I have horse riding ankle boots from Decathlon for 5 years now, they were around £10 at the time, I wear them everyday to walk the dog in the park and they never failed me.

Hyperfish101 · 31/10/2020 23:39

Do you want hiking style? Trainer style? Chelsea boots? I wear Hunter able wellies in the rain. The Chelsea boot ones. They are great. For warm and waterproof I wear DMs.

Hyperfish101 · 31/10/2020 23:41

And if you want warm and dry over style, Decathlon have some snow boots under £20 that are super warm and waterproof.

Graffitiqueen · 31/10/2020 23:47

Sorel

VetOnCall · 31/10/2020 23:56

I love my Blundstones for general wear, they're waterproof, really comfortable and go with pretty much everything:
www.blundstone.co.uk/products/blundstone-550-walnut-brown

If you want hiking boots, Salomons are comfortable and hard-wearing. I have Sorel snow boots that I really like but they are very warm and quite heavy and clumpy.

Cabinfever10 · 01/11/2020 00:19

@Spacie a quick rinse with water and the mud comes right off 🙂 and I can honestly say that I've never had a blister from them even when I've walked them to death

Croprotationinthe14thcentury · 01/11/2020 09:30

Thank you all. Off to do some online shopping this morning and will definitely look at all the recommendations and let you know what I go for! Thanks again

mammmamia · 01/11/2020 10:23

I’m currently looking at the UGG Lorna boots
