AIBU?

To think being over two hours late for a press conference...

is a bit of a cunty thing to do?

I completely understand that this is not an everyday occurrence, and it would be nice if things were absolutely in place before our glorious leader addressed the nation.

However, if I rocked up two and a half hours late to work it would not go unremarked on. I cannot simply choose to arrive two and a half hours late to a hairdressers appointment or to catch a flight.

Why say you will hold a briefing (which incidentally we weren't even expecting) at 4pm, then 5pm and then ever increasingly later? It seems really disrespectful to the public who are left waiting to know what will happen. Say it will be at 8pm and be done with it.

DS mentioned that this was normally the case when they were still doing daily briefings so it shouldn't really be a surprise Hmm

Why the hell set a time he’d never make. Just adds to the air of “I’m inept/I’m more important than you”* delete as applicable

To be fair I don’t think this is he’s just rocking up late. Im surprised anyone thinks that, I think that they are announcing due to the leaks as they are not quite ready. So it’s not he’s late, it’s more he’s not ready yet and will announce when he has it nailed down.

I understand they are starting an investigation into the leaks and are furious.

You have no idea what a decision like this entails, yes it's frustrating, do you not think everyone involved is doing the best they can? Awful times, unprecedented, locking down or not locking down will affect the lives of millions, and the decision will not be taken lightly. Complaining about being them late and calling them cunty is just uncalled for.

Lol I sound like a Tory supporter, I'm not actually, I do understand what an awful position this has put all world leaders in though, so being late for a press conference while trying to get thing right is completely understandable and forgivable.

I’m mostly worried about Strictly, if he interrupts that that will just tip me over the edge!

It will probably be because he has to negotiate with the bunch of back benchers who don’t want a lockdown

I'm not a BJ fan at all but this has been caused primarily by the media.

Otherwise protocol would have been to raise in Parliament on Monday, the "leak" has forced things to be done back to front.

This isn't Boris' fault (first and only time I'll ever write or say that!!)

However there is of course the valid argument that this should have been done weeks ago Shock

Way to ruin everyone's fucking weekend aswell, I should be relaxing in front of the TV after another shitty and exhausting week of work recovering for yet another week of shitty and exhausting week of work ahead. The stress of all this shit is never ending and now you can't even enjoy your weekend without dithering BoJo being nearly 3 hours late to tell us of even more ways they're going to make life miserable.

Absolutely agree. Say it will be at 8 and if it’s earlier it’s a win.

No because then lots if people would miss it!
