Now in these Covid days, I look back and think all that weeping and wailing over brexit seems pathetic

It seems such small fry now

Wait till the end of the year. You will learn what double whammy means.

CrunchyNutNC · 31/10/2020 10:58

Brexit hasn't happened yet OP. Just wait to see the shit show that brings in top of everything else.

JingleCatJingle · 31/10/2020 10:58

Wait until Brexit comes properly and a no deal Brexit at that.

AlexaShutUp · 31/10/2020 10:58

This. We haven't even begun to feel the impact of Brexit yet, but we will.

Lockheart · 31/10/2020 10:58

I miss when the news was full of nothing but Brexit batshittery.

It was a simpler time...

JingleCatJingle · 31/10/2020 10:59

Oh and also there will be some more terrorism due to the mess being made of the Irish border.

LimaFoxtrotCharlie · 31/10/2020 10:59

Brexit is going to make the whole situation 10 times worse. Lockdown with all the food stuck in lorries queueing in Dover

Lardlizard · 31/10/2020 10:59

“I miss when the news was full of nothing but Brexit batshittery.

Exactly

KrisAkabusi · 31/10/2020 10:59

You haven't properly left yet! Wait until January and see what happens when there's Brexit and a pandemic!

LimaFoxtrotCharlie · 31/10/2020 11:00

And food prices will shoot up - 20% rise is predicted

ilikebooksandplants · 31/10/2020 11:01

This is a joke, surely?

Brexit hasn’t even happened yet. Are you really so hard of thinking that it didn’t even occur to you?

Lardlizard · 31/10/2020 11:02

I’m not saying brexit won’t make it worse, but it’s liek back in them days that was all we had to worry about and that was all that was in the news on a daily basis

OP posts:
Moondust001 · 31/10/2020 11:05

You have absolutely not a clue OP. Brexit will bring job losses, rising prices and poor trade - the latter having a massive impact on the economy. Boris' will blame everything on COVID in an attempt to con people that it has nothing to do with BREXIT at all. Some people will be stupid enough to fall for that. I can think of one person that stupid right now OP.

Moondust001 · 31/10/2020 11:07

Do you really think COVID is all you have to worry about now because it is all that is in many headlines? Believe me, all you are demonstrating here is that "ignorance is bliss".
ScrapThatThen · 31/10/2020 11:08

I understand where others are coming from, but I do feel the same when I watch old episodes of topical news quizzes - kind of like we were naive, didn't know what was about to hit us. So yanbu OP imo.

Emmapeeler2 · 31/10/2020 11:08

I am getting so fed up of seeing the phrase 'weeping and wailing' on this forum.

It seems to have become the Mumsnet equivalent of 'calm down dear'.

Brighterthansunflowers · 31/10/2020 11:10

Brexit hasn’t happened yet. Once it does you’ll realise why we should still be very worried about it.

Lardlizard · 31/10/2020 11:10

No I don’t think Covid is all we have to worry about at all, I think brexit will make it all harder a lot harder

OP posts:
diplodocusinermine · 31/10/2020 11:10

And if Biden wins next week (hopefully) we probably won't get any sort of trade deal with the US that doesn't protect the GFA (again, hopefully). Let's see Johnson wriggle out of that one.

Tellmetruth4 · 31/10/2020 11:11

OPs clearly on a wind up.

ferretface · 31/10/2020 11:13

Where I work we're really worried about no deal brexit as well as covid, there are incident response structures in place to manage it alongside covid due to the potential impact on supplies. The combination is a worrying one.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 31/10/2020 11:17

Yes time’s were most certainly simpler when it was just Brexit which is a complex issue

I worry more about the impact of Covid than Brexit

AuntyPonsonby · 31/10/2020 11:19

OPs clearly on a wind up.

Or voted for brexit Hmm

adawong · 31/10/2020 11:25

Or voted for brexit
More likely a remainer starting yet another goady post.

LaurieFairyCake · 31/10/2020 11:28

It's a toss up for which is worse Hmm

IMO Brexit is worse as Covid might go away ....
