To think this is a bit disrespectful?

If an adult child brings their SO to visit their old family home, and in full view of their parents and siblings, start to kiss passionately? It was so uncomfortable I had to leave the room.

That's grim. Totally inappropriate in front of anyone.

RunningFromInsanity · 30/10/2020 18:06

PDAs are gross anyway.
Peck on the lips, holding hands etc is fine
Full on make out session? Unnecessary.

1Morewineplease · 30/10/2020 18:06

Very disrespectful.

Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:07

Thank god I'm not alone in thinking this! I could see how uncomfortable others looked but no one else left the room, so I thought maybe I was overreacting.

YANBU that behaviour is juvenile and cringe worthy

MustardMitt · 30/10/2020 18:09

Full on snogging in public is acceptable only with randoms in a bar Grin

YANBU.

Aquamarine1029 · 30/10/2020 18:09

Are you a sibling? Who initiated the snogging?

Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:13

Yes I am a sibling. It was my sibling who initiated the kissing with their SO. I honestly feel a bit nauseous.

OP posts:
Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:13

Never encountered anything like that before

OP posts:
Aquamarine1029 · 30/10/2020 18:13

I'd be telling your sibling to grow up.

AriettyHomily · 30/10/2020 18:15

Urgh. They need to grow up or are they actually 15?

BritWifeinUSA · 30/10/2020 18:15

How old are they? 15?

Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:15

It's my parents I feel for most, I can't imagine what they were thinking

OP posts:
islockdownoveryet · 30/10/2020 18:16

PDAs are eww anyway , why do they think anyone wants to see that .
Get a room would of sprung to mind in disgust. What did you say ?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 30/10/2020 18:16

Console yourself with the thought that one day they'll look back on this and shrivel up with embarrassment Grin

Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:16

In their 30s

OP posts:
islockdownoveryet · 30/10/2020 18:17

@Jericoo

In their 30s
Wrong just wrong Envy
Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:18

But sibling does have some social development issues

OP posts:
Fluffybutter · 30/10/2020 18:18

Oh Christ! 30’s ?? What the hell were they thinking ..

WitchesSpelleas · 30/10/2020 18:19

I wouldn't say it was 'disrespectful'. Childish and embarrassing perhaps but not sure how it indicates lack of respect.

Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:21

I just left the room, @islockdownoveryet. I'm not very good with social situations either so I didn't know if I was overreacting

OP posts:
Dontforgetyourbrolly · 30/10/2020 18:21

Haha how cringey . I would have told them loudly to stop it ! And probably laughed at them.

Jericoo · 30/10/2020 18:23

I called it disrespectful because surely if you enter your parents' home, you should act accordingly? I wouldn't sleep with someone whilst staying in my parents' house, and I wouldn't kiss them in front of everyone either. But I am a prude Grin

OP posts:
funnylittlefloozie · 30/10/2020 18:25

If its your sibling, whats stopping you saying "FGS, pack it in you two!"

ktp100 · 30/10/2020 18:25

Nothing worse.

Well done for not throwing something at them.

I'd have had to shout 'Get a room!!' at the very least!!
